Dolphins NEED sign another Wide Receiver.

If the Dolphins don't sign another wide receiver I will be baffled... T. Ginn is our only threat, I think... And E. Wilford has showed little. I think D. Hagan can be something because of his College Numbers but hasn't shown up yet. I would love to see us sign another vet for this weak dismal WR core. Such as, T. Glenn, K. Johnson, Troy Brown, K. McCardell all these guy can still play and proved it over their careers, even if its just for some mentoring. Your thoughts?

the only guy on that list that IMO can still bring it is terry glenn. And he may not even be a healthy option. We are rebuilding as of right now. I say we see what we have in Ginn, Hagan, and the rest of the guys before we go out on a limb and sign a "replacement"

Ted Ginn showed the other day that he was a receiving threat catching passes across the middle. Who knows, this area may not be as bad as we thought it would be.

Personally, I'm fine with the WRs we have.
We're building this team for the long-term, and getting our young WRs experience now will allow them to be ready when it really matters (2009 and beyond).

We need long-term solutions, not a short-term quick fix....

The "mentoring" thing is thrown around too easily IMO. Our young guys need to play, and learn on the job, and from their qualified position coaches.

I think it's very sexy to mention all those names, but I think there is still value in a guy we haven't heard of yet. For example, we bring in a relative unknown in Welker and look how he turned out.

Im more apt to go after a player who wants to make a name for himself, rather than some guy who is just a name.

You have a good point I just think that we need one more "quality receiver" and maybe he is on this roster but as of right now I'm very skeptical about it.

plz use proper terms while making ur threads. this is strictly opinion so dont say they WILL at lesat say opinion in there its misleading.

There is definately room on this club right now for a good receiver, doesn't have to be a great one. Throwing all these names around is great but slim chance any of them will wind up here at this point. I'd be happy just to find someone with good hands that runs good routes and DOES NOT DROP PASSES RIGHT IN THEIR FREAKIN HANDS ON 3RD DOWN!!

ok i feel better now

Let Them Play!

Who's on the bubble some place else that could come in and UPGRADE the position?

Also, that player shouldn't be REALLY old or REALLY hurt!

Seriously, it's a GOOD question! Receivers notoriously take a LONG time to acclimate into a new system, especially young ones.

Didn't Braylon Edwards look like a bust until suddenly he was amazing?

Don't discount what a solid year for GINN, HAGAN and BESS can do for their abilities.

Obviously, if a player in his prime from another team becomes available due to a postion camp battle with a younger athlete, of COURSE you consider that player carefully. But having said that, we have our speed guy, our BIG guy and our slot, quick possesion guy.

I say LET THEM PLAY!

Yes, and also a guy who's been a last-minute cut from receiver-rich team, like Indy or maybe SD or NO (off the top of my head) even as an unknown commodity is probably more worthy of consideration than a "name" on a descending career trajectory.

Joe Horn was released today! I wouldnt mind bringing him in for a workout doesnt hurt...

Bingo, I am not happy with Wilford, but maybe he changes when the season comes around. Some players are like that. I think Penne will find the open man and I think Bess, Camarillo, and Hagan can do enough to get the job done. Penne spreads it around to 7-8 receivers. So you dont need superstars until you need the big play. Ginn should bring that based on what I saw the other night.

Just my opinion, but I hope we dont bring in a one year fix kind of guy, lets look for someone who can grow with this team, and develop into its chemistry, if that kind of talent is not in our roster...
Remember, we are rebuilding, what we need is playing time for these guys to gel...
I believe our first team will keep us close, quality depth will come year 2 of this process...

I think we'll end up picking up another WR for depth. Whether it's Joe Horn or one of the guys from NE remains to be seen.
