The Miami Dolphins are certain Ryan Tannehill is the future of the franchise and will spend this spring trying to finalize a long-term contract for the team's starting quarterback, who produced a 92.5 passer rating last season. If an agreement can't be reached in the next six weeks, sources say the Dolphins won't hesitate to exercise the team's fifth-year option on Tannehill, guaranteeing the 2012 first-round pick roughly $16 million for the 2016 season.

fully expected . . . no need to rush a long term deal if they can't agree on terms. Miami has his rights in their hands.

 no brainer...now just protect the kid and we will get more than our moneys worth either on that 5th year option or the long term contract

i'm glad the staff knows he's the guy

SUPER curious to see how Tannehill does this year. Knowing our luck, he'll get injured and the organization will have question marks over their head next offseason.

Meh I doubt it, the kid is as tough as nails. We just need to get him some help and draft some offensive players that will help maximize his talents. (Aka guards/recievers that fit our sceme)

Sounds like they offered him that Kaepernick/Dalton special, but Tannehill ain't biting on it. Don't blame either side there.

I don't even think you need to get the kid special weapons....just give him a little protection...
