Dolphins win coin flip, will pick #8/Video of Flip on Page 5

So since we have the higher pick in the first round, but lower in the second, does it reverse back again in the 3rd, and then again in the 4th?
The Dolphins, Panthers and Bills will all rotate as the draft goes on between the 8th, 9th and 10th pick in each round. Here is how it will look:

1st round:
Dolphins
Panthers
Bills

2nd round:
Panthers
Bills
Dolphins

3rd round:
Bills
Dolphins
Panthers

4th round:
Dolphins
Panthers
Bills

5th round:
Panthers
Bills
Dolphins

6th round:
Bills
Dolphins
Panthers

6th round:
Dolphins
Panthers
Bills

Why are the Bills in the rotation? They had a better record and therefore should not pick before us!

because the Panthers being a "crappy" football team has anything to do with how they flip a coin.....regardless if its "move along folks nothing to see here".......why bother going to the 4th page of the thread to rain on the small parade.....being negative even when they win something no matter how small

There goes my vCash !!! :tantrum:

On a serious note, this may or may not turn out to be a good thing.

Carolina likely won't be looking to draft the players we'd be looking to draft so picking behind them (& 2 spots before the Rd. 2) would not have been a bad thing in that respect, as we'd probably get our guy at 9 as well as 8 and would pick before them and Buffalo in Rd 2 rather than after both of them.

However, picking at number 8 is advantageous in terms of draft day trades, whether it be us trading up for a QB then its better to be at 8 then 9, or if its us trading out of the position then we have the higher pick to trade.

i'm glad we won something though :D

Carolina already has a QB, They didn't need anymore luck.

We do.

Supposidly the Panthers are in need of D-Line help since they drafted D-Lineman last year that did not work out and their run defense was terrible and their pass rush dropped off, i could see them taking the best D-Line player or if one of the CBs falls

Not quite. What if Blackmon runs a mid to high 4.5 40? He could easily slip to #8. Even though they have Smith and need defensive help Carolina would probably be sprinting to the podium to make the pick. Now imagine the Fins sign Manning/Flynn and a T in FA and Miami would now be sprinting to the podium for Blackmon.

It could also hurt us is in the 2nd round. I believe (not sure) both Shockey and Olsen are FA's this year. This could make Fleener a target for them in round 2.

It's all relative but we will have a much greater understanding of what teams will be looking to draft after FA. It's the main reason why I don't put much stock into mock drafts until FA has been going for at least a month.
