Pretty cool video on what Chris Simms and Ahmed Fareed think of free agency and the Dolphins' front office. Watch the first few minutes, then skip to minute 19. The whole video is pretty solid though.
Enjoy!

That's always going to be the unknown. Front office just has to do the best they can to minimize those players that don't pan out to the best of their ability, while also getting impact players that make up for the misses.I agree better.
But the constant unknown is which FA pans out and which draft pick succeeds
They make some nice points. For those crying about us overpaying in free agency, I like Simm's thoughts on this. We can afford it because we will have approximately 14 rookies contracts. He didn't mention it, but there is also something called a cap floor. We need to spend a certain amount of money so IMO we allocated the big bucks in a smart way and on impactful players (the culture in our locker room is going to be sick!). I think when this is all said and done, there are going to be teams that end up doing the same thing we did. It's early and there is no telling how this will end up, but a person would have to blind and totally biased against the Dolphins to not see how with this new strategy we should be much, much better in the years to come.
Exactly. I want pieces and coachable play makers. The argument seems to be the perspective of the poster.
Some of us look at last year and see a (projected) much better team. One example - OL. Miami won 5 games with an NFL-bottom OL. Getting up to middle turd is a VAST improvement.
Others look at the team and compare it to top teams in the NFL. In that case, there's improvement, but (projected) long way to go.
To me, Miami 'won' for two reasons. 1) No ridiculous contracts. 2) A number of good players instead of one elite.
Yeah, I don't get it either. This draft is being talked about as possibly the best WR draft in a long time if not ever. Just use your 1st at WR and have that guy run around. Is he really going to be that much worse than Diggs at a small fraction of the cost? Some interesting takeaways.
I know it's just Simms' opinion, but saying Miami could go with Fitzpatrick for two more seasons wouldn't sit well with me. I like what he did last year, but the Dolphins need to find their future at the position. I'm hopeful that whoever they draft this year can get at least a handful of starts this year.
Surprised he put Buffalo atop the free agent winners. Clearly, the Bills are all in which makes sense with all the players New England has lost.
I think they overpaid for Diggs, though. He's a good receiver, but giving up a #1 in a year where the draft is loaded at the position is a high price IMO.
I know wide receivers don't often come in and set the world on fire as rookies, but I agree they could have drafted one with more upside than Diggs in R1.Yeah, I don't get it either.
