What would you guys think about picking up Pope, the 250 lb, 6'9", monster tight end from UGA. This guy would be like another O linemen, and a great target across the middle. What round do you think he would go in.

Sounds like he needs to add 15 lbs of bulk, but that would be cool. I think it was the 72 chiefs that had a TE that was almost 7 foot tall....

Pope is a BEAST! If we some how drafted him... our pair of UGA TE's would be unstoppable in 2 TE sets...

What Saftey could cover him coming across the middle, and he's big enough to handle any rushing LB CB or Saftey.

1st - Ngata NT
2nd - Culter QB
3rd - Pope TE, I don't know if he would go that high???

He'll go end of round one, early round two ala Ben Watson. A physical marvel.

I've long been on the draft Pope bandwagon. Of course, that would have to be the second round pick.

Love to have him , but we won't be able to because he will go far to early even as a prospect.

-Anyone wonder about a Tightends Coach? Do we have one? If so , he needs to start getting these guys in gear because they under perform.

We're not going to spend a high draft pick on a TE. We are looking for a blocking TE. And H-Back. Someone who can line up at FB and play some TE. Notice Alex Holmes in the game recently? Someone like that. 6'2" 265 pounds, thick, short, and a mean blocker.

No, we run a two TE offense. At least Linehan did at Minnesota a ton of the time. We just don't have someone good enough to fill the role.

Pope would do that. I get tired of hearing about we won't grab this position or that position. We'll take the best player there that isn't a RB early.

If we trade Ricky, we might even take a RB because you can get talent later in the draft ala Marion Barber.

That second TE in Linehan's offense in Minnesota? Jim Kleinsasser. He's an H-Back. He lines up at both TE and FB as needed.

Look at Alex Holmes. Look at Darien Barnes. Look at Heath Evans. Do you see a specific body type, play style, etc?

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

We will be looking at LT and QB. And if Saban see's an all pro LB to fit his system, he may well draft that in the first round. Hold onto your hats ladies.

You make a great point. Alot of guys that will be on this team next year will come via pickups along the way. Darien Barnes came from nowhere as did Alex holmes who I would have thought would be camp fodder for next year but Barnes is the starting FB and for good reason and Alex Holmes was a nasty blocker against Oakland from what I saw. I couldnt believe he was playing and that that was him laying lumber on a LB!

That high? Pope won't go that low. At worst he'll be a 2nd rounder.

There should be several other players in the 2nd round that grade equally to him at positions where we have a greater need, so I don't see us drafting Pope.

If we pick up anyone, I'd expect it to be someone like Matt Bernstein or Dominque Bird.
