DAVIE  He never said the name, never made a direct reference to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Yet from the moment Dolphins coach Nick Saban began his post-practice news conference Monday, he made it clear who and what he didn't want to discuss.

"What happens on somebody else's team really isn't an issue for us," Saban said. "Are we all right with that?"
Saban, of course, was referring to Roethlisberger's emergency appendectomy Sunday, which will keep him out of the nationally televised season opener Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

Although Roethlisberger will be replaced by 31-year-old journeyman Charlie Batch, the Dolphins said their game plan won't change.

"As of right now, we haven't planned any differently," defensive tackle Vonnie Holliday said. "They still have the same offensive line, the same guys at all the other skill positions. So we've got to play these guys like Terry Bradshaw was playing quarterback for them. We can't let up."

Batch, a nine-year veteran and former starter for the Detroit Lions, started two games last season, winning both, when Roethlisberger was sidelined with a knee injury.
