We Fix our Interior Offensive Line! It's that simple fellas. Its not complicated. I think we're 2 high quality guards away from being a playoff team. Look at all of the games we've played this year.... When we've Played good D-lines we've struggled offensively. Even in the Jacksonville win. All of the good offensive teams have top notch olines. It allows you to do sooo much offensively. Against Detroit we were so limited offensively because Lazor couldn't call plays that required a 7 step drop. If you can't threaten the big play...... It makes it that much more difficult to win. '

This same group of players with two high quality guards is 7-2 right now.

You can thank Jeff Ireland for spending tons of money and draft picks on the OL and only coming up with one starter we could keep.

And get an NFL caliber HC.

And then it will be defense, then it will be quarterback again, and so on and so forth.

The rot on this team starts at the top. This team won't ever contend because they lack the personnel to find the pieces to contend.

I agree that we need interior linemen. No doubt about it, but saying we would be 7-2 with interior linemen is an understatement. We would be 7-2 if Finnegan tackles the GB reciever in bounds on the fake spike play and if our Offense gets 1 first down the last drive in Detriot. Although I do agree with your post, we can still win and make the playoffs with what we got. We just have to take advantage of opportunities.

I don't agree with you here. Hickey has brought in more talent in one offseason than Jeff did in 6 years. I think he's good. Philbin just has to get out of the way. I like Lazor and I think he'll continue to grow as a OC as this is his first year calling the plays at this level. Better Guard play and those losses aren't even close for Philbin to screw up.

It's almost like we had a ****ty General Manager for six years and that our entire fanbase was so upset with the guy that they hired a plane to fly a "FIRE THE GM" banner over the stadium like three years in a row.

Nope, it's all comes back to the interior oline buddy. Finnegan doesn't have to tackle the GB WR in bounds if we were able to run the ball and get 2 first downs to end the game. And the reason our offense couldn't get the 1 first down on that last drive is because our oline couldn't block long enough for tannehill to find someone open. Or because on 2nd down they let the D Tackles penetrate and tackle the RB in the backfield. I'm telling you man... it's the interior oline. Fix that and we're in the playoffs.

I can't believe this bum Dennis Hickey couldn't undo the damage of six years under Jeff Ireland in a single off-season. Bum.

Again, if our defense had stop one last drive in both the GB and Detroit games we'd be 7 and 2. It's not just one thing. Our team just doesn't make the plays when it matters most. It's that simple.

Agreed. It's all about the OLine. Why have we struggled against the bills? It's not like the bills have been a powerhouse, but they got a great d line and that's enough to beat us. Same with Detroit. Can't run the ball, can't protect the qb, can't win.

True, but the point is with a better O line maybe the offense can run out the clock and it never comes down to the defense having to make a stop. Two games the offense just needed 1 first down to ice the game, and couldn't do it both times, mostly due to pressure on tannehill. The 2nd down play against gb and 3rd down against Detroit.

....until we get a REAL franchise quarterback.

Not one of those guys who is just good enough to get paid in this league like a Ryan Tannehill, Alex Smith, Jay Cutler, or Andy Dalton....I'm talking a future HOF type QB. A guy who gives your entire organization margin for error.

We won't consistently compete for postseason births until we get that guy.
