Dolphins won't land a decent coach

Yeah, but if the Fins do end up with the first pick (which I highly doubt), what're the odds that Oliver Luck is on the phone with Archie Manning discussing the similarities between Dean Spanos and Steve Ross?

Pure speculation.

not sure about -
Bill Chowher -- good teams, won the superbowl a few yrs back,he is very passionate, but how much was Dick lebeau the DC?
Gruden - he took over a team that had talent, did help get over the hump, was he a draft guru? he did have a good offence.
Fisher - Titans had a superbowl run in early 2000's, that its.
Rob Ryan - Dc - we know him since he is on dallas and rex.s brother
Nolan - our DC, not a good start so far... not good in SF

Another Rookie Hc for miami ?? a offensive minded younger HC, also maybe going to a 4-3 D not a 3/4

Money talks. We may have to over pay but Ross has the money if he wants them bad enough who ever that may be.

If we go 0-16, every coach will be licking their chops. Imagine inheriting the next Peyton Manning.

Unless we have some major injuries, we won't go 0-16. We have too much talent for that. We'll probably go 5-11 and have the 7th pick or something.

i really doubt that if we offer a good contract that so called good coaches will stay away. Hell Tampa's owner pursued and got a verbal agreement from Parcells when Dungy was still the coach and they stll landed Gruden.

Armando does seem to be ****ting on the Dolphins this week. First he reports that Ross put the clamps on offseason spending, than he reports that Ireland likely is safe and now he is reporting/speculating that the Dolphins won't be able to land a good coach. Maybe everything he says is true, or maybe he is just going for the shock factor. If all this is true though, you have to be at least a little bit worried that Ross won't be able to bring in a good coach for next season. I don't want a Mike Nolan or Rob Ryan and I am afraid that is where this team might be headed if Ross and Ireland have such a negative view around the league.

Ross better be willing to open up his wallet at the end of the year or the good coaches are going to pass on Miami. I am still on the Cowher Bandwagon despite what Armando is saying.

If we end up with the number one pick, we'll have our pick of the litter. With Luck as your QB, it wouldn't matter if the team was owned by a retarded moose with cerebral palsy, the coach is going to be successful...

If Ireland is retained then no, the Dolphins wont get a top billed Head Coach. Everything hinges on Ross' decision with Ireland.

remember, mando was the guy who claimed one of our QB's was a lefty and then got the wrong QB playing to boot. while sitting there live. didnt realize he screwed up til i said something.

But back to Ross. I am a forgiving person. Ross owns the team. Hopefully, he learned from his mistake. We all make mistakes. We all fall short in our lives. Ross has billions of dollars. How many people out there can own a football team? Not many.

Ross so far is doing the right thing. Which is not overreacting right now about the coach. He prob sees that Sparano has not lost the locker room...yet. So now he has all season long to start looking at resume's of many coaches. Not Gruden or Cowher. Ireland is way way better than Randy Mueller. There are no #1 draft pick busts on his resume including parsells. There is something to be said for continuity. This past draft was a good one but yet to be determined (clay, gates). I know this whole board just wants to kill the world right now. But there is no answer in that.

Just let the season play out. It is what it is, but know that what we have here is not cam cameron/randy mueller. We have played the best in the league so far minus cleveland IMO. Just let it play out. Let the chips fall and pray that Ross starts doing things with a keen sense of putting the right people in position to build his franchise.

I still like the Ball guy CK brought up in GB. I think that would be a great start. Ross can make up for his screwup, but if he does not, he will never win over this market. He needs to put the right person up at the top to make things better all the way downward.

Totally agree with this. Armando's article is a pathetic pander to the fired up fan base.

I don't quite get what all the anger towards Ross.
So what he went after Harbaugh. If he had gotten him everyone here would have praised him for being bold.
It looked a little silly. Probably could have had more tact, but it shows me he is passionate about winning. It definitely doesn't make him Jerry Richardson.

Cut Ross some slack he isn't a billionare because he is dumb. He clearly has to learn some of the nuances of being an NFL owner.
The Crowder/Gruden thing is a total non-starter because it was a lockout threatened offseason.
FWIW I too like the sound of that Ball guy

The game is over and the Dolphins lost another game. If Ross makes a coaching move tonight or tomorrow, I bet the odds are good that whoever is named the interim head coach is the head coach for 2012. Not sure if you guys saw this, but Ethan Skolnick basically indicated tonight that Ross and Ireland are real tight, which likely means he is here to stay.

If they don't get a coach worth a **** next year I'm getting my Phins tattoos shot off with a BB gun

At this point ill take Hugh Jackson if we are the raiders east at least they play hard

there are only 32 jobs in the world, so i think they get who they want if they pay well
