The Dolphins worked out free agent wide receivers Nick Moore and Kole Heckendorf Saturday, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Moore, the younger brother of Lance Moore, went to Toledo and has been part of the Vikings' practice squad before. Heckendorf comes to us from North Dakota State. Obviously, these two aren't going to push the Fins' current receivers, but it's revealing that the Dolphins are working receivers out. The current crop just isn't cutting it.

Meh...Without measurables we don't know why they're looking at them.

I highly doubt any of these guys are meant to replace any of our current receivers. Just practice squad guys...maybe with some size similarities to upcoming receivers we'll face.

Typical bottom of the barrel wide receivers

for christ sakes trade for a true #1 or draft a true #1
stay away from the retreads

We can't neglect the smaller things in our search for a #1. It's easy to overlook the importance of the practice squad/depth positions from the fan perspective. The line "...but it's revealing that the Dolphins are working receivers out. The current crop just isn't cutting it" is misleading as it makes it sound like we are working out possible replacements for our starting receivers.

Don't get me wrong, I think we need a lot of work in that area, but I also don't want to mortgage our entire future to do so. It's time for fans to come to terms with the fact that it is HIGHLY unlikely we are making a move for a #1 this year.

I think they're brought in to keep our receivers on their toes and looking over their shoulders because no one is safe :)
