Dolphins working out some Free Agents

Miami Dolphins CB Patrick Surtain (groin) practiced Wednesday, Sept. 22, and hopes to play in Week 3.

Miami Dolphins CB Reggie Howard (hamstring) practiced Wednesday, Sept. 22, and hopes to play in Week 3.

Thats good news we could really use Howard and Surtain back. Whats the deal with Forsey and Edwards? A lot of people at this site brought these names up months ago and only now they get a look? Didn't Edwards actually call the FO and ask for a workout and they said no? When is Wanny gonna realize that no running back can run behind this line? Even if Ricky was still here he'd probably have his worst productive season. Another thing....Wanny said that he couldn't keep Fred Russell on the roster because he couldn't keep someone that will only play special teams. Next thing you know Brightful is here and now this Wesley guy. Brightful never played cornerback only ST. Russell could've evolved into a Quintin Griffin type of player. I can't wait for some new coaches.

Both Brightful and Welker are punt & kick returners, its the only way to make a team as a return specialist. Russell was a nice kick returner but he couldnt return punts, cant justify keeping him for only a couple of plays a game.

Did the coaching staff try to work with Russell to make him more flexiable as far as positions go on the team?

Russell might turn out to be a hell of a 3rd down back. Anyone know if he's played a snap yet for the Bears?

Totally with you Toronto, and others. This staff just doesn't seem to understand the importance of the OL. Unless Tomlinson is available for cheap, i wish we stop trying to get RB's. Watch us trade away even more draft pick to get another nobody. Wouldn't that be great. Our only purpose this year should be to develop a good OL and just come to terms that there will be no running game this year. What's the point, does the staff really think we'll get that far this year :fire:

I also forgot to mention that I read some where that Detroit has released Olandis Gary. Are we interested?

Gary's over 30. A RB who's over 30 wouldn't last one game with our O-line.
and this is a guy who was beat for a starting spot last year by Artose Pinner. so that tells you a lot....
