It is no news that we need help at the WR position. As of Today the only starters are Ginn & Wilford, but behind them the list of names is not all that exciting. Below I will provide a list of our WR and my thoughts.

Derek Hagan: At times he shows pontential but his hands are a huge concern and some have even said he could be cut. This is his third year and if he does not pick it up it could get real ugly.

David Kircus: A career backup at best and a year removed from the league, he also has had his incidents with the law and beat up his dad after getting the axe last year.

Greg Camarillo:Is a career ST who Ithink is a one hit wonder with his Winning Catch last year. Yeah we a loved Camarillo, but the truth is his biggest highlight was winning a game for a team who was 0-14.

Davone Bess: An UDFA from Hawaii who is projected to be a real good slot reciever. He runs crisp routes and is awesome after the catch. He coudl also return Kicks and Punts. Im one who hope he makes the team.

Jason Foyster : A UDFA from Georgia Southern the guy played QB and is a Human Highlight Reel, but at 5-7 and 170 pounds I sincerely suspect him making the team. He can return kicks and punts and do about everything else, but his size and inexperience at WR makes him a dark horse as much as I like him.

After Foyster there really is not much. Alot of unproven guys who are camp folder. Yeah, we can get lucky and find the Marques Colston of this year Draft, but the Dolphins have not be that lucky lately. Guys like Justin Wynn, Selwyn Lymon and newly aquired Justin Dunlap are very raw and inexperienced.

So, after this analysis I still dont understand how some of you when I say a name like Matt Jones who might be release upject to the idea. The truth is we have very poor talent at the WR position and we need all the help we can get. Now there might be some updaters after cuts. I start of with:

The Coybows: I say the Cowboys because they will be letting go of a WR and Miami will more then likely pick him up. There is a very good chance that Terry Glenn, Sam Hurd or Mike Austin could be released and maybe just maybe a guy by the name of Isah Steinbach who Ireland loves.

Devery Henderson: His roster spot is on the bubble. He has awesome speed, but very average hands and is stretch the field type of guy. Being coach by Sean Payton I could see Parcells very interested in him if he is released.

Matt Jones: Jones is a former first round pick and rumors are he might be released. The guy has all the talent in the World, but dissapears in games and struggles to create separation. Who knows what a change to another team would do.

This are my guys feel free to include any WR that might become available any your input. Hopefully we sign a WR that can help us, because our depth the position is very poor.

jones is definitely worth a look. guy has unbelievable untapped talent. there is just seemingly no motivation to succeed at the nfl level. don't think parcells would allow jones to be mediocre in miami.

While I agree the Dolphins WR talent is subject of debate.... it's important to note... the passing game works like any well timed machine... and when you have as many malfunctioning parts in the passing offense that we have obviously had over the past several years... some of the parts (WR's ) that depend so much on other parts (QB, OL, RB, OC) are going to suffer...

I would venture to say.... if our running game becomes something that requires teams to gameplan against.... and the play of the OL and QB position improves significantly.... and the play calling proves to be NFL caliber... then we may see our WR's are not as bad as we think....

i think if sam hurd is released, we should scoop him up fast!!! he showed flashes last year. and also jones from jax. i think if we sign those guys and release kircus and hagen we will have done a 180 at the wr position. with ginn, wilford, hurd, starting and bess and foster returning kicks and punts, and with camarillo there waiting for an injury. i think we would be alright.

I dont want Hagan going any where, and our WR coach is raving about him, but I do want more talent at the position.

Indeed, our WR depth is poor - the weakest position on the team currently. It's certainly not outside the realm of possibility that we're going to grab one or more of the guys you listed off of waivers. However, it should be noted that these guys are being cut from their respective teams for a reason. While they may come in and better the talent level on our team, we shouldn't expect that all of a sudden Matt Jones comes in and starts living up to his potential just because of the change of scenery or the ever popular "OMG BIG TUNA" response.

We currently have three receivers worthy of being on an NFL roster so you can best believe we will be watching the waiver wire close.

Will a guy like Joe Horn, who has demanded a trade our possibly a Terry Glenn be available. Then the question becomes do we want old injury prone players our a young guy who can still grow. I would take the young guy.

I dont know why Cinci wont trade chad Johnson ;I know many people dont like him but Ted Ginn and Johnson and terry Glenn would be a good group of wrs.

but what about tightend ? how would you guys rate this unit ?

i think we could use one more te and one more wr . then that would leave the cb to focus on.

people are against bringing Shockey straight up for Taylor, but if the possibility exist I would do it.

I would love to see Sam "the birdman" Hurd in a dolphins uniform, I'm a student at NIU and i got to see his senior season at NIU and he was amazing to watch when they threw him the ball, absolutely blew by the secondary in the MAC. If you guys watched last year he showed flashes of what he could do as a receiver and he showed that he could hit on special teams i saw him hit a guy last year and knock his helmet off. Also, another thing to keep in mind is that he studied behind TO and they are good friends.

I'm actually more worried about our frontline talent than our depth. I think players like Camarillo and Kircus can be effective depth players in this league. I'm more worried about the lack of an experienced playmaker at the top.

well im not saying nothing that our recievers r going to be the best butif u look at it like this our running game is good and will help our recievers and if we have wilford on the outside with his heigt and ginn with his speed on the outside and bess with his speed as slot and i think bess is a poor mans version of welker we our in good shape

dont underestimate our depth.... a team that wins 1 game in a season is never desperate for Wr's either. We have a long way to go and you can get a good feeling of the new regimes approach after almost a full offseason. It's certainly not the 'plug that hole in the dam with a peice of gum' approach anymore. We have alot of young talent and they all deserve shots.... There's always next years draft too.... we seriously hafta drop this "hoard all the better team's leftovers" mentality !! I know they've imbedded it in our brains for years.... but look at the colts... they prefer only homegrown players and that works out pretty damn good for them. The Draft is the Eggs, Flour, vegetable oil, cake mix of your CAKE..... Free Agents are the icing and sprinkles.

I caught a lot of those late night Hawaii games. I won't be shocked if Bess becomes a big part of our offense. He's an impressive player. We'll see how he can hold up against NFL corners. It would be nice to hit big on an UDFA.
