Miami dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker runs to catch a pass at Miami Dolphins training camp in Davie on Sunday, Aug.14, 2016.(Maria Lorenzino/Sun Sentinel) (Maria Lorenzino / Sun Sentinel)

Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s opener at Seattle on Friday’s injury and it appears he’ll be a gametime decision.
“I would like to play,” Parker said after Friday’s walkthrough practice at the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium. “I just have to see how it feels. You don’t want to just rush back and make anything worse.”
Coach Adam Gase said “there’s a chance” Parker plays.
“We’ve still got time and we’re just going to keep evaluating him, see where he’s at,” Gase said. “My biggest thought that goes through my head is I want to make sure this is for the duration.”
Parker, the 2015 first-round pick, has been battling injuries for the last two years dating back to his final season at Louisville when he had foot problems. The same affliction slowed him last season as rookie.

To soon for the Yatil Green comparison but with each passing week one cant help but wonder if he's ever going to be able to get then stay healthy.

Seriously? This kid fought through foot surgery in college to ball out, and a bolt replaced in his foot with a bigger bolt to play well for us at the end of last year. Now he's had a couple of pulled hamstrings and he's Yatil Green? I'm as frustrated that he may not be available for a game or so, but come on, a little perspective.

Yup, though in his case it has been established that he has some responsibility in all of this in terms of how he takes care of his body, not just that's he is unluckily injury-prone or had a few freak injuries.

What a nostalgic picture, it seems like so long ago last time I saw him actually run....

;)

You listed all the reasons why he is compared to Green lol

uh, no.

"On the very first day of training camp, Green tore his quadriceps muscles, anterior cruciate ligament and cartilage in his right knee. Green came back the next year and again tore the same ACL in training camp. In his third and only season playing, 1999, he played in 9 games catching 18 passes for 234 yards and no touchdowns. After three years and a total of 10 surgeries on his right knee, he was cut by the Dolphins after the 1999 year."

Yatil had a college history of being dinged up. JJ even told him over the phone on draft day, "I don't want any hamstring pulls." DVP and Yatil are way more alike right now in their careers than they are dissimilar. DVP is officially on the clock.

to be fair, I don't think Yatil got on the field for like an eternity after blowing his knee - perhaps a few years later and I don't recall him so much as catching more than a ball or two. DVP can play. Just needs to stay on the field.

Edit - I had to look it up:

On the very first day of training camp, Green tore his quadriceps muscles, anterior cruciate ligament and cartilage in his right knee.[1] Green came back the next year and again tore the same ACL in training camp.[2] In his third and only season playing, 1999, he played in 9 games catching 18 passes for 234 yards and no touchdowns. After three years and a total of 10 surgeries on his right knee, he was cut by the Dolphins after the 1999 year was and signed by the New York Jets, but never played a down and was cut during the season. After missing the entire 2000 season, he signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2001 but was cut during preseason.

Very sad - he was 6'2 and 205 when that was a beast of a specimen at WR. Shame.

On who's clock...yours?

Tick tock...tick tock...get on the field DVP!!!

This is a game we really need him. Probably more so than any other game well play this year. With our running game potentially nonexistent it's likely we'll have to rely on a lot of passing. We also are looking at major pass protection issues, so having a WR that can at least somewhat keep the overtop coverage honest is going to be crucial.

It would be nice to have him play at least as a situational red zone target this weekend.
If he isn't good to practice then I doubt he will play much in a no huddle offense.

i think he could absolutely play at a high level. they just need to be satisfied he isn't going to tweak it during the game, make it worse, and set him back. hopefully in warmups he gets the green light, plays well, and doesn't make it worse.
