We have a lot of players who have not yet played their third year, which is a measuring stick by most. FA and the draft are fast approaching and what coaches think of our young guys will have an effect on what we do. A closer look.

On O, D Williams played well in limited play and secured a 3rd RB position. The team expects Turner to be a starter, and no idea of what they think of Dallas. Landry, James and Sims are secure based on production.

The only question would seem to be what coaches think at RB and OG.

On D, we have AJ as well as Anthony and Kamil Johnson at DT. I expect one to be the #4 option in the rotation. I also expect Fede to be in the DE rotation, replacing Jordan.

LB is more difficult past Jenkins. We can hope that Jordan can fill the need at OLB but, far from proven. Tripp and McCain are long shots.

DB's are a tougher challenge. Do coaches believe that Taylor will live up to his potential? Will Davis mature and develop? Is Aikens a viable option at safety?

Many questions for the team to answer, and this off season will give us the answers.

I think that aikens, taylor, turner and jordan could all be starting next season. If so we are for sure going to have to go DT or MLB in the first round. Then our d wouldn't be so bad. Especially if delmas comes back.

Hickey's FA will tell us if coaches believe any of the above can step up to a starting or rotational role for this year. Going to be very interesting to see the confidence level the team has. To a degree I think a number of these players have been hurt in playing time by the team being 8-8 and still looking at a playoff shot late in the season with coaches not wanting to take a chance on playing them.

I wonder how loud most here would be SCREAMING IG the team chose to go with Turner, Dallas, and Smith as primary options at OG, with a cheaper vet as some insurance?

Or, Taylor and Davis with a cheaper vet CB?

Or, Jordan and maybe Misi at OLB, with filling MLB?

Or, Williams as the 2nd RB, with a cheaper vet?

There would be quite an uproar but, many want to build through the draft instead of FA, and a couple of these moves would be how it's done.
