My god, broken record on Tannehill.

I personally cannot stand to hear him on the Dolphins. I am not a fan that believes we are going to win the super bowl every year ( to put it mildly) but he classifies every fan that doesn’t exactly agree with him as a blind ass fan.

His voice is nails on a chalkboard to me.

now you can listen to brown nose radio 24/7 on WQAM, everybody talking in nice measured tones.

What EXACTLY do you “learn” from O?

I learn from Channing. He is very funny to boot. Last week he explained the problems with our linebackers and how they should all work in unison like a string attached to all three of them, which they are not doing.

I listen to 3 yards per carry too. You can tell very quickly CK really understands football, just from the verbiage he uses. I am both entertained and I learn from every podcast.

Now, taking those examples and adding O, I am pretty sure you can tell quickly he has almost no knowledge of how the game is played compared to those two. Can there even be an argument made the other way?

I’m nowhere near the level of knowledge of the previous two, but I have heard (unfortunately) several rants by O that showed me he didn’t understand the game at even a basic level. I remember distinctly the Seattle game from a few years ago. Tannehill threw a ball behind Cameron and he couldn’t reach back and get it. He ranted about Tannehill that day (as always) and used THAT PLAY as one of his examples.

Even I noted on that play it was zone coverage and anyone trying to pretend they understand the game knows, you run away from man, you lay down in zone. Our TE was running directly into coverage, Tannehill was trying to throw him open. O had no idea, he just mindlessly rants.

I am not making excuses for Tannehill, we need to move on and we should absolutely pay more attention to drafting QBs almost continuously, but O is just an angry, obsessed guy imo. Even if I agree with him on a subject, he is tiring with his antics.

By the way, telling it like it is ONLY means telling it like HE sees it, I’d rather listen to other people in that regard.

Tanny was trying to throw Cameron open by throwing behind him? he was accurate while being inaccurate? WTF?
Is that what you 'learn' from Channing and Rose et al? Well, now we have that bunch telling it like it really is, the bad pass was in reality a great pass. Extend Tanny asap

Still doesn’t understand zone concepts I see

I never heard of such a thing before, if someone is covered you then throw behind him so as to.....i dont know, guide him backwards? if someone is covered dont you....throw it to someone else? this is first ive heard of this.

no, in Ts case its throwing it- ACCURATELY I want to emphasize- 5 to 10 yards behind the receiver. an alert all star receiver-the type T deserves-should be able to pirouette instantly on the spot and head backwards at full speed before the ball passed by into the hands of the awaiting defender.

Are you serious?

When a qb recognizes zone and he’s throwing in a seam ( you know an area between defenders) and he knows the receiver is going to settle between the defenders ( again a concept you cannot seem to grasp) he’s throwing from 15-20 yards away. If the idiot receiver thinks it’s man and he’s being trailed by a safety, he continues to run.

In this case he was running INTO COVERAGE. He was running toward the corner. If Tannehill led him he’d be throwing a pick 6 right into the corners hands.

It should not be a concept that is hard to grasp. His job is to recognize the coverage, run his route and settle in the seem knowing his qb will throw the ball between defenders. Not lead him into a kill shot/interception.

Yes, Tannehill recognized the coverage and threw the ball correctly to where he SHOULD HAVE SETTLED. Obviously when you keep moving it looks behind.

You and O really struggle with this.
