I think there was already a thread about this, but damn our front 7 has some serious potential from next year. Last year it was great but with another year of these guys playing in the defense and with an addition or 2 maybe, the Miami front 7 will be among the best in the business. In the 3-4 Carter and Holliday are dominant at DE, Taylor played awesome while hurt at that pass rushing OLB, Crowder and Zach are bangers at MLB and Crowder is only getting better. I think if we address DT, (and maybe we wont even have to if Wright and Vickerson come along) and the other OLB position we might have the best front 7 in the league.

Yeah, they are pretty solid. We need an infusion of youth to go along with Manny. We may even go after an experienced veteran to add for a year or two. There are rumors afloat the Brenston Buckner might be let go from Carolina. While he has been around a while and his BEST years are behind him, and will not be long term, he may be good for another year or two. He'd be good to add to our rotation.

I would welcome Brentson as a rotation guy in there if the money was right. He was on the NFL Network last night, and he says the way to stay game fit is to stay in shape all year long.

We do have a great line, one of the best already in terms of production, maybe not talent compared to other teams but the only thing that matters is production.

We also have some youth coming through in Roth, Manny and Vickerson and we should be able to pick another young guy up through FA or the draft.

Yeah, the money would definetly have to be right. Another thing attractive about him is his attitude. The guy would be a GREAT influence on the younger guys as far as attitude, how to approach the game, and his overall knowledge.

They have more talent at D-line than 90% of the teams in the league.

I really like Manny Lawson, he's going to soar up draft boards and he's a perfect fit for a 3-4 olb. He's practically the same guy as JT, 6-6 245, fast, strong, agile, a freakin beast. Wouldn't bother me if we picked up a corner and drafted him in the 1st.

Mmmmm yes, dominant they are.

Sorry but the title sounded like Yoda said it. :yoda: :D

Little over zealous but yeah I think we got a good core group of guys.

We Seem to be very well at DE,DT, MLB, and a nice rookie in crowder playing at OLB, although his future is most likely inside in a 3-4 scheme. Not sure what we are gonna run next year either. This hybrid 4-3, or was capers brought in to fully convert us to 3-4.

We are missing a NT for the future, hopefully we keep Traylor for the last year on his contract and bring in a new young NT this year. I don't think Wright is gonna be a NT for us, and Vickerson is probably only gonna be a good depth guy in the coming years.

Also missing that other OLB, hopefully Greenway or Carpenter are drafted to take over for Seau either this year or the next.

With these 2 key additions addressed in the draft, and we get good play out of our young guys again this year, yes they will be dominant.

NT is the key I think. That cornerstone big guy in the middle clogging up the run and taking on 2 blockers is the difference between decent and dominant.

What do you think about this guy?

Ma'ake Kemoeatu 6' 5" 350 27 years old

He's a big-time runstuffer from the Ravens and a FA. He seems to fit right into the 3-4 NT mold. I guess if we get rid of Traylor (which I kind of hope we don't), he could fill his spot on 1st and 2nd down and in goalline D.

i think we just need to get roth going.he was dissapointing last year.i hope he has a good year this year.but we should draft a DT in this years draft.

ZThe guy is a stud

front 7

we have two holes like someone said before, nose tackle and olb.

options:
ravens nose tackle ma'atke
grady jackson
gabe watson 2nd round

and olb, hopefully from the draft, chad greenway or cameron vaughn of lsu.

then we will truly be dominant. not yet though.

and like any good D-line, if we get the added bodies to improve the secondary and some depth, the front 7 will be that much better. Our front 7 was excellent with the likes of Reggie Howard at CB, just think about getting a CB that can actually cover!
