Don Banks: Tannehill will go early in the first round

Or else he won't

I wish these guys would have to start carrying their guesses into the next season. If they strike out (3 bad guesses) they are banned from the Internet for the next 3 years.....

its gonna be so much fun...once again, miami holds a card.

His hand came in smaller than Alex Smiths and I think Smith holds the smallest hands ever lmao. I don't know how I feel about Tanny Boy since this news and personally, I think he is a robot. Me and CK had a talk about this on twitter a few weeks ago and I think we both see eye to eye in that Tanny boy is a bit of a robot that lacks any improvising capabilities and to me he reminds me of Sanchez. Athletic but misses so many passes where you are scratching your head and asking yourself, how the hell do you do that? I mean passes where the WR is wide open floats about 10 yards above his head than 2 plays later he comes through iwht a great play. To me, you can't change old habits like that because that is focus and concentration, you just can't teach that. You can say all you want but that is NOT coachable, someones focus can't be taught you either have it or you don't and if you think its coachable than let me ask you this...how come so many players come into the professional level with that issue and yet don't coaches never were able to fix this issue? Because you can't teach a players brain to focus as much as you want, it won't happen. Its every similar to having game instincts you just can't teach that. No way no how.

At this rate in spite of his age, Weeden could well end up going in the first round.

if someone takes him in the early first or in the first at all they are reaching big time and should all be fired

Tannehill is a developmental prospect, and therefore not worthy of a first round pick from a franchise that needs a good QB NOW.

Yes, you'd love to sit him behind Peyton Manning.  But if you're getting Peyton Manning, you're spending your top picks on players that contribute to winning NOW.

Tannehill is not going to be a Dolphin, plain and simple, unless he drops to the 4th round.

Tannehill is NOT 1st round worthy let alone top 10 in Round 1. The guy is very raw and has small (9") hands for a QB. The smallest hands for a QB at the combine. Not good!!!

John Beck has really small hands too. A lot of QB exchange fumbles. Tanne = Another John Beck?
I did not know this about Tanne. It is definately a concern.
I would rather draft a project like Foles or Osweiler later on and stock up on some play makers early.

Something is telling me that we are going to trade down to the middle of the 1st and take this kid... The whole Sherman connection scares me... If this is the qb we land I'll throw up.. With the ability to move to #2 and get griffin or possibly land manning in free agency, there is no way I'd be satisfied in getting tannehil.

I will join you.
This off season has a plethora of quality QB options. Manning, Flynn, and the opportunity to trade up for RGIII (even though I think the cost is prohibitive...It isn't my call), to end up reaching for Tanne or dropping down for him would be a mistake. I would prefer they take old man Weeden if they are Hell bent on a QB.
I would rather they avoid the issue all together and draft a play maker at 8 or another solid piece for the oline. This makes more sense.
Get the project QB in the middle rounds. Foles and Osweiler are two intriguing prospects for example.
Stick with Moore if we have too.

Looking at how the draft went in 2011 I'd say he's an early pick; if Ponder, Locker and Gabbert can go early why can't Tannehill?

I still think the best thing to do would be to get Flynn in free agency if he hits the market. Then move down if posible to get an extra 2nd. In round one take the RT we need then in the 2nd a TE and pass rusher. Take a project QB in round 3.

Ozzy rules!!
