Lets break the curse of the Jaw once and for all, don's in good shape. Coaching was a never a concern with Don, it was personnel and loyalty to some old coaching buddies that didn't have it.

Let Mueller handle personnel, Capers run the defense, and let Don motivate the team and manage the coaches.

We have a great staff and I think Don could do it for a couple years.

This might just break this team out of the funk its been in since Don was pre-maturely forced out.

We may be in the minority on this (and I know it's not going to happen) but given the other options at this point I would prefer Don. They guy is a great football guy. The only concern is how the players of this era would react to him. I think initially, they would react well and be somewhat in awe. But with the egos of players these days, his disciplined approach would likely wear thin quickly with the majority of the players.

(Also have to consider his age. He is getting up there. But I'd still take him over the current candidates.)

LOL! Screw it, bring back Bill Walsh!

Has anyone bothered to look at Shula's draft record for the last decade he was in Miami?

How about the salary cap hell he left this team in when he left?

Talk about retreads.

Don's 77 years old, i think he's done for good.

How old was Marv Levy when he was coaching Buffalo in Superbowls?

Its not like Don has to do as much as he used too back in the day, we have a huge experienced coaching staff, Randy to handle personnel.

All he has to do is bring back the magic, Brink Zonk back as his runningbacks coach.

Dude, he doesn't have to draft, or deal with the cap, we have people to do that.

All he has to do is motivate and manage the coaches, we have a huge quality staff to handle the players.

And do you think Shula would come in and ask for ZERO power?

Even if he had a small input in things it would be a disaster.

If he is not involved in the draft, or personnel for that matter, you let the OC call the offense and Capers run the defense and just let Don be the head coach, how could it be a disaster?

Barring Marty Shottenheimer coming free, would it not preferable to who were talking about?

Don would come back for a year, two tops, to restore this franchise......and keep the seat warm until the right candidate is available.

This is a bad year to look for a coach.

I would be OK with that. The only Veto power given to him would be to over ride certain play calling, if a particular play didn't suit his fancy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but..............

But wasn't it the Genius " Don" who drafted the greatest QB EVER??!!!
I say hire Mike Shula & make Don the Dad an Advisor with as much input/power as he wants.... I think this would make for much prouder Dolfans....

I don't really think Don Shula would consider coming back but I wonder why the Dolphins never made Don Shula president of the organization instead of Eddie Jones and some of these other people? Now I read that Mike Shula is being considered for the head coaching job. I don't know about that one. I also read Marino was in the group doing the final interviews but no mention of Don Shula.

I don't want him making personnel decisions anymore, or draft decisions, I just want to see that JAW out there for one more season yelling at the Refs, bringing the pride back to this organization so we can move on after that when a good candidate is available.
