They say records are made to be broken,But I feel
Don's win record is untouchable.I mean,damn,
someone would have to coach 30+ years at 10
wins a year, min. to have a shot. What do you think?
Untouchable,or could someone have a shot and who?

now it's time to sit back and wait for all the Saban responses.

Too early to say anything about Saban, coaches generally don't stay around long enough, but hope he does! Cowher has the best chance of any coach in the league now, don't see him going anywhere and he almost always wins at least 10 games a season. He's been coaching Pittsburgh for what, 13 years now? Not sure.

In Saban We Trust!

I think Saban is the bomb, but no way he gets close.
He would have to coach until he was eighty-something
to have a shot.

almost untouchable with free agency and it's very hard to have a dominate team for that long. Imagine how many wins shula would have if teams played 16 games a year his whole career. He'd prolly have another 10 wins had they changed the # of games sooner.

It would have to be a coach who started at a very young age ala Mangini. (and no I am not saying he will break the record). Shula himself was only 33 when he became coach of the Colts. If a coach averaged 10 wins/year he would have to coach forr approx. 33 years.

Cowher still nedds 187 more wins or approx 19 years to pass shula.

It will be very difficult but not impossible.

I'm going to wait and see before i say Saban is a good or great coach in this league personally. I mean right now the only thing he has proven is he is a better coach than wanstadt, which is like come on.

i also don't think he has a shot at the record but i'll bet that the Saban homers will argue that he could and/or will.

How many wins is Gruden at?

Not saying he will break it or even come close but he has been a good coach and is still very young

If you think it would take 30 yrs. at 10 wins a year which i agree, Then Saban would be 83 when he got (CLOSE) to Shula's total.

So mangini should be about 65 when he breaks the record:D

I don't see anyone breaking tha record. He started too young and was always consistently winning reg season games. You never say never but that's going to be incredibly difficult to even approach.

Gruden is 42 years old

67 wins

So 10 wins a year for 20 years he will have 267 at the age of 62......

So if any active coach has a small chance it is him, but I doubt it

I truly feel,in this day and time, this record is untouchable.

Unlike Marinos records , Shula win streak will be hard to beat. The Dolphins have somehow avoided the natural cycle of winning and losing which makes the win average per year very good.
