What about Strock for QB coach? It seems we're having a tough time getting offensive coaches. We've been turned down twice, Carmichael and Zampese. Jim Calwell of the colts might be a good hire. Any other suggestions.

He would certainly seem to be a guy who would be a loyal Dolphin anyway. Can he coach? I heard his record at FIU wasn't so hot, but probably couldn't get much talent there.

Now

Now this type of response kills me. Why should he stop it? Because you dont agree with it? I may not agree with it either, but its still an opinion that has merit. Don Strock has a ton of football experience. Its not exactly the worst idea I`ve read here.

ok imo i'll pass

Strock would be a very good hire as well as Caldwell. Dan Marino credits Don Strock for helping him adjust to the league so rapidly. Strock was pretty much a coach on the sidelines for a lot of years here. It's too bad the late David Woodley wouldn't accept Don's help.

If Don Strock hadn't been a Dolphin, would his body of work as a coach warrant him being mentioned for a coaching position with the Dolphins? The fact that he is a good guy shouldn't matter. The fact that he is a former Dolphin shouldn't matter. For whatever reason, This guy didn't do a job at FIU. They didn't win a game last year. I think Miami should go out and get a proven guy (Wayne did say money was no obstacle)...

I agree. If you don't agree with someone's post, post your reasons why. This kind of post just eats up bandwidth and adds nothing to the conversation.

Personally, I think Don Strock would make an excellent addition to the Fins organization. Dan Marino has said countless times how much Don taught him while the two worked together. I think Dan said that Don Strock had a lot to do with him being inducted into the Hall. Having Dan's support should certainly at least earn him an interview. Interviewing the guy can't hurt and who knows?

I agree. David Woodley was my first Dolphins QB, so I have a soft spot in my heart for the guy. I liked his scrambling, but I don't think anyone could have helped David Woodley. The poor guy just got had too many things working against him to be able to listen. I'm glad we got Marino, but I can't but feel bad for the poor guy.

People say things like this about people they care for to generate hype. Peyton said Eli was a better QB than he was. Michael Vick said the same thing about Markus. I personally don't think Don Strock had much (if anything) to do with Marino making the hall. Marino is plain and simply the best QB to ever strap on a helmet and that would have remained true whether Don Strock or anyone else would have "helped" him...

Jim Caldwell? Are you kidding? He may have been the worst head coach in college football history. But, he hasn't really done anything at Indy except be Tony Dungy's friend. If they weren't friends he would not be there. He's an unnecessary addition.

Strock might be a decent choice. However, I think there may be others that are better.

The mistake Cameron made was declaring absolutely that he would be the playcaller. I think that was a rookie mistake. He should back off that and do some more interviews.

Who could have?

If we can't find a Q.B. coach and OC I suggest Dan Marino and Strock for those positions and Shula as an assistant

Strock has the experience and the network, what I mean is, if he needs to know something, he can call either Shula or Marino.
