Jason Cole on with Joe Rose this morning..

When asked about upcoming cuts..He said that we may see one of those surprise cuts where a player with ability gets the axe to shake things uo and put everyone else on edge...That player he thinks is Donald Lee....Just needs to get it together..Show that he can consistenly catch the ball everyday and not commit those stupid mistakes that have plagued his career..

Get this..Rob Konrad told Joe, off the record, that Lee is more physically gifted than McMichael...

I know we've seen flashes of his talent...but he needs to remove his head from his arse and he better do it soon..

We don't have anther backup at TE..Perry our longsnapper is going to be protected like fine china for the rest of his career...

Any thoughts?

I've been thinking that Lee will get cut. Right now, the only reason he'd make it is because we have absolutely no one else at the position (if that proves to be true).

I don't see how we can cut our 2nd of just 3 TE's. ANd like you said, Perry is never going to play on downs 1-3, so we really only have 2.

If Saban picked up a FA then there's a possibility he's gone. Maybe he reads the forum and will get his sh*t together!

I hope see a TE come in from other teams cuts to replace Lee who hasnt delivered IMO. Going by his reports from camp hes dropping way too many passes. More psysical than MacMike! Makes no difference to me. Let him go. He wont be missed.

What about the kid from USC, Alex Holmes?

Sammy Morris has experience at fullback, Jamar Martin is a good blocking fullback, and Heath Evans may have enough ability to be used in an H-Back position (like Kleinsasser). That is how we could get away with cutting him, if we decide to do it (he has a while to shape up before the axe falls, IMO).

-Our current TE's

40-Lorenzo Diamond
41-Jason Rader
48-Alex Holmes
81-Randy McMichael
85-Donald Lee
89-Ed Perry

It looks like we got talent there.

There's so much potential in Lee but he just doesn't execute. It's a dang shame. I think Alex Holmes would be most likely to take up the spot, but I don't know much about Diamond and Rader except I thought I heard that someone hit Diamond deep down the middle.

Where's Jed Weaver when you need him.

And a bunch of scouts and writers claimed that Ricky Dudley had the physical tools to become the greatest TE of all time. It didn't actually happen because that alien-looking fool couldn't catch either. I'll admit I haven't seen any practice sessions, but from all the reports I've read it sounds like Lee is so bad, he couldn't even catch AIDS in a brothel in Thailand. Some other team will probably release a guy or we can always use one of our backs as trade bait. This team will be fine without Lee.
