Donald Lee vs. Derrius Thompson

More evidence that fans watch the ball, not the football game. On the vast majority of plays, neither Lee or Thompson receive the football. But on those "uninvolved" plays, there is simply no comparison. Lee is a consistent blocking force while Thompson wanders, seemingly without purpose or intellect. Donald Lee may not make this team, which would be a considerable mistake. A team that cannot block should not forfeit one player who excels in that area.

Being a TE in this system is going to require him to do more than just block.

That's why they brought in two pretty good blocking TE's that can also catch.

One thing an inexperienced fan can see though, is how many times Lee is called for that untimely penalty.

I was estatic when they picked Lee, but he has been very very inconsistant.

Which of the two is the better receiver? Which one should we cut?
cut thompson, he has more potential to drop more passes, while we can keep lee off the field except for sp. :D

Obviously Thompson is a better reciever because he's not a TE lol. But Lee i dont think you can cut, because heaven forbid if something would happen to McMichael then who would we have at TE, Ed Perry? I shudder to think how that would work out. There are plenty of guys to fill in at reciever.....

- Both. Neither could catch a cold if you needed them to.

Lee is a disaster waiting to happen either a 3rd down drop or a crucial fumble at the wrong time in the ball game.
you forgot my personal favorite, the false start penalty, or the old standby "Holding...#85..."

Holmes and Diamond are pretty big boys, Im sure with as much time as we have given Lee, they will develop into steady run blockers. Oh, and by the way, they caught the ball consistently, and I dont recall a single penalty on either of them.

This is like comparing garbage to human waste.

Does the term "6 of one, half a dozen of the other" ring a bell ??

Or, how about...in a word....BOTH !

I have been opposed to moving a WR via trade (mostly because every time it comes up, it seems that it is somebody trying to move Booker), but I think I would have to endorse something like Thompson to the Eagles for a conditional 7th. They could use a playmaker who drops balls the rest of the time -- Pinkston did that for them but is gone for the year. The question is whether the Eagles are that desperate for receiver help at this point.
