Donald Penn released by Bucs

We will all have to trust Hickey on this one. He knows him better than anyone.

If he cant play RT he's irrelevant. I dont think we have time to experiment either

Bucs' Licht on releasing Penn: "Starting 108 consecutive games in this league is quite an accomplishment... we wish him well in the future."

Penn is an interesting option. I don't think it's a coincidence his production dropped last year at the same time Nicks wasn't suiting up. He's a very solid tackle with decent feet for his size and a clean medical list for a guy of his age, which indicates he could last a few years.

LG could well be an option, maybe more so than RT. Hickey will know him intimately obviously so if we're not interested it won't be because we don't have a good grasp of him.

Are #Raiders about to secure their new left tackle? Ex-#Bucs OT Donald Penn is flying to Oakland to visit the #Raiders tonight, per source

The Bucs cut him for a reason. He was a liability in pass protection and he has been very injury prone as of late. Brandon Albert is excellent in pass protection, I have no clue why so may of you are anti Albert. He was solid last year and has been solid his entire career. Dude, made the Pro Bowl last year. Do you guys remember our line last year? It was a joke. We go out and sign a pro bowl left tackle and some of you are still whining. I just don't understand. I think that all of our signing so far make sense. They seem to be well thought out decisions, unlike years past. They are looking for pieces of the puzzle that fit together. Not just grabbing pretty pieces and trying to force them to fit together. If we can grab Strief from NO we will have 3 solid O-lineman. Fill in the guards through the draft and I think that Our offense will look much better next year.
