I didnt watch much of Donald Thomas while he was in college and didnt know much about him at all. What I did see of him through the preseason and that one game of the regular season did give me hope. How good do you guys think Donald Thomas is or could be? Those of you who have more experience watching him, what do you think?

at times he has shown signs of being an elite off. guard

NFL.com analyst Gil Brandt says Donald Thomas has the makings of a Pro Bowl OG. Gil is perhaps one of the most knowledgeable analysts you'll ever read or listen too.

I live in the Conn. and i saw him as a great pickup. i think he will be better as the years progress, the one thing he lacked was prime coaching and i think he will be a line staple for many years

i'm quite sure he'll get that with our new OL Coach and our HC if necessary...

All I heard during training camp was D-lineman saying "He plays Heavy". That's the most important thing with a guard, when they get on you, you go backwards. I'm excited to get him back.

Just imagine our line then if we draft another top notch player like a center or pick one up in free agency. We would have one heck of a line for the coming years, a staple in all great teams!!

I hope he's all healed up. I would hate for a guy that BP once refered to as "a Godsend" to be derailed by injuries. If he is healthy and back to form (not to mention a better pro football IQ from nothing but studing this year) he will help free up what we can do in the draft and FA.

What I wonder is how Satele plays in all the OL talk. Report is Miami wants to move him to guard. With Thomas and Smiley already at guard I can't see Satele being a starter. Thomas is much better I think than Satele. Thomas reminds me of the OL Miami had back in the 70's.

Satele would become depth at center and guard. If not...then he's one more piece of a historically bad draft!

Bingo! and that avatar is AWESOME

His preseason was awesome. Ricky was running through some very large holes on the right side.
