Donald Thomas seems like a polite guy. But he has one firm request, after spending several months recuperating from a Lisfranc foot fracture.

"I don't want to hear that name ever again," a smiling Thomas said, while attending the Make-A-Wish charity auction at the Broward County Convention Center on Friday night. "That's like the worst name ever. I was like, 'Lisfranc, what's Lisfranc?' Now I'm like, 'Don't say that lady's name. Whoever it is, just don't say it around me.'"

Thomas said Friday that "the foot's doing good, so I'm ready to get back started."

"I'm taking steps now," Thomas said. "I'm still crawling right now. The strength is pretty much back now. I just need to get back into running plays and stuff, get back into that football mode."

Hopefully he can come back 100%. He will be a big upgrade at guard if we can get him healthy for an entire year.

I think also that he will be an upgrade and I hope Donald can regain his form from last year because in training camp he was very good imo..
 
i think DThom will beat out Alleman, NDukwe, Murphy, Berger and whichever rookie we draft for the RG position. After 10 months, His foot better be 100% for Camp.

Love his effort, and expect even more this offseason. I'm interested in seeing how he plays in games, he's great in practice.
 
I'd rather see Carey move to gaurd and Donald Thomas be depth until he can beat out Smiley.

Sign Orlando Pace to play RT and also draft a RT like Loadholt,Joel Bell or even Alex Boone if he has sobered up.

Carey was listed as one of the best offseason free agents for the RT spot..

I think a lot of what Miami can do in the run game depends on if Thomas is back to 100%. I really think he's going to contribute a lot this season. Let's hope he recovers just fine.

I like his attitude!

But you look at it, like 'OK, he (doesn't) think Ted Ginn can get the job done.' I watch Ted Ginn in practice every day, I think Ted Ginn is a hell of a receiver. I watch Davone Bess, I watch (Greg) Camarillo. We think we can get it done. This year, we are really going to have our backs against the wall. Nobody wants us. Nobody thinks we can get it done. That type of attitude. And you're going to see from that opening whistle from OTAs to Super Bowl time, we're going to produce. That's what it's all about."

Good news.

But that leg will need to be 100% because with the draft still to come, I think Thomas will have some competition for a starting Guard spot.
