Donald Thomas has played better than Allenmen and EK, but he is not having a good year. He just got schooled by Ellis in a major way. The last three games have been his worst. Is he injured? If not, then we may need to start having someone push him in practice. Otherwise, Henne might be killed this year.

isn't he on a minimum contract? wasn't he a 6th round pick last year? what do you expect?

the jets have a good team with schemes that confuse the o-line... the whole o-line played bad today

This game maybe. But vs. Jets in game 1 he was awesome pulling left and right and lead blocking.

he stunk it up a little today.

Man, who is our backup G anyways? Half the depth charts are still showing Murphy, the other half show us as having no depth at all. Would it be Nate Garner?

I think he's doing good for essentially being a rookie. Once he gets his technique down, he will be very, very good. We already know that when he gets it right, he can put the hurt on some guys.

I don't think he's playing poorly but as other's said he's essentially a rookie. I believe he'll get better. Give him time he's got one of the best guards in Smiley to help him.

murphy plays for tampa bay.

garner would come in, maybe gardner.. we also just picked up lydon murtha who was a tackle in college, but i dont know what the phins are doing with him. Gardner and Garner are solid backups at the tackle spot.

Joe Berger I guess would be next in line. I think Dthom still has alot to learn, he's not elite and pro bowl worthy like some people scream about here.. He's still a steal at the position and I think he can grow into it.
That being said if there is a 6'7 340+ BOSS of a Gaurd in the 3rd round, I say grab em'.

I mean I still think we look at a OLine next draft . . . but Donald has been impressive for the most part. He didn't have a great game yesterday but that was a solid Jets defense and truth be told, Henne didn't do our line ANY favors yesterday.

He will be fine

He had a bad game but overall in his rookie season, I'd say he is playing well. He only has 7 games experience.

I doubt that...even TS said in the pre-season that this line will stay together, and gel w/ one another. He even said he was impressed w/ how much time they all spend together. How they eat breakfest, lunch, and dinner w/ one another,so their chemistry is getting stronger.I higher doubt we'd break that up.I think TS wants to keep this line for 4+ years,or maybe more...

I don't doubt it at all . . . I'm not saying this guy will replace Donald Thomas, hell I think Donald Thomas is going to be a great OG for us . . . but you still need young depth just in case. Murphy was expendable because it was clear that he would never beat out Donald Thomas . . . and he wasn't a backup center (Berger) or a backup tackle (Gardner and Garner . . . who also is a vital goaline and wildcat OLineman). No I'm not talking the first 3 rounds . . . but we will draft 1 or 2 more Lineman this draft . . . a G/C and a OT.

Thomas is rookie, he tend to fall in love with his hand punch and forgot to use his whole body.

Give him time and proper coaching, I think he'll be fixture on that OL for the next 10 years or so.

Donald has been playing with a heavy heart. He had two high school friends visiting last week and they were involved in a serious motor vehicle accident saturday night before the Saints game, and one passed away.

He needs a pass on the last couple of weeks, he'll be just fine.
