Not sure if this question was asked and answered already reagarding Donald Thomas, but here's the question.
What did he do that had Coach Sparano so impressed to the point that he noted that he had not seen a play like that in quite some time. Any clues?? Please enlighten...........I hope Donald's work on the practice field can translate into higher out-put from the run game this year. To hear that he was regarded as being ahead of "Big Jake" at this time last year is pretty impressive in its self. This O-Line could be Nice!!!

Peace................................

He tends to knock the snot out of the dude across from him...

I beleive in his 1st practice he was dominating/manhandling the 3rd team dline to the point where he was basically tossing them to the floor without effort.

I think Sparano was just referring to the fact that it's been a long time since he's seen Donald Thomas go in full contact drills with the pads on. He hasn't seen him do that since the week of practice before the Jets game Week 1 of 2008.

Was this it?

(On if Donald Thomas' progression is further along than what he thought) - "I think he is progressing, well he's progressing faster than I thought just from the injury itself, as far as being out here Donald has a lot of work we have to get done with him, so he does bring some physical tools out there though. He had a rep in practice yesterday that from a physical standpoint I haven't seen in a while."

Tony Sparano Q&A: Cameron Wake starting to show some flashes

Yep. we need DT to be healthy this year. In camp last year, he was the best run blocker on the team including Long and Smiley. Hopefully, we will find out what we missed from him last year. The dude is a beast. I watched him several times in preseason block two different guys in the same play. For the record, I also saw Long do that.

I hope that what Tony was referring to was Thomas looking like he did in last year's camp.

I was worried that he might lose some strength with that pectoral tear. And he definitely used his strength to his advantage from what I heard and saw last year.

So, it will be good to see him get himself back into the starting role and be what he was last year.

:) Nah, its none of those, its was an article or blog from either Herald, SunS, or PalmB, that said something like he was manhandling the 3rd string defense and even name one of the defensive players he put on his arse :)

Hes a beast!

i think you're referring to Louis Ellis. Thomas handled him pretty easily. of course, he also put Paul Soliai on his backside yesterday.

While I dont think manhandling either one of these mediocre defensive tackles means alot, its good to see him playing well,

it's better than getting pushed around by those guys, don't you think?

Wasnt downing him. Its great that he seems to be recovered and hoopefully he will be a good lineman. When I hear reports of him manhandling a good NT I will be much more excited. Not sre if I will be excited to hear he is manhandling Ferguson since that might not bode well for Fergie as a player this year lol.
