Donations to the site

If a member's total donations for a calendar year are equal to or more than the amount necessary for VIP membership...do they automatically get VIP membership or does the member have to request it?
...or is that enough to get into VIP?

They'd have to request it....we wouldn't necessarily know, off hand, how much their donations have totaled....but, if they had donated enough money to cover VIP costs, they would be given a membership.
