Chargers linebacker Donnie Edwards will be moving on -- if not real soon then at least sooner than he would like. GM A.J. Smith verified when asked yesterday that he has notified the rest of the NFL (except AFC West foes) that Edwards is available for trade. He and Smith have disagreed as to his worthiness for a lucrative contract extension.

Should the Dolphins be interested?? And what would we give up??

The Chargers are asking for a 2nd rounder.

I'd love them to look at Donnie Edwards. He's a veteran of the 3-4 defense in San Diego, he's played with other solid LB's there too. He could play on the inside with Zach while Crowder/Pope are on the outside and a guy like Spragan or Hodge in relief. I'd probably rather have Arrington since he's younger....but he will also want a great deal of money and if Edwards is cheaper it could be a good pickup.

We dont have anymore ammunition in this years draft to trade for him... we would have to tap into next year's picks...

I'd love to have Arrington also and keep hopn that sometime this year he'll make up his mind, Edwards seems like he'd be a good addition if we don't get Arrington, another tutor for the LB's we'r gunna get in the draft I think maybe next year's 4th, but also I'd love to get Ahmad Brooks outa the supplemental draft which'll cost a 2007 pick as well, between Arrington, Edwards, the draft, and Brooks in the Suplemental draft i dunno wat the Dolphins'll do but we'll be fine at LB for this season.

He's a good linebacker but i don't think we have anything left to trade to get him. We should try keeping our draft picks and get younger players.

That's the tune I'd dance to.

Right, but it's those corners i'm worried about. I like Travis Daniels and i think Will Poole will be a solid player. But without Madison (who was over the hill anyway) and even Reggie Howard (who might have been the worst corner in Dolphin history) i dont know if these guys are ready to be starting corners. I'm not a huge Will Allen fan either and the safeties are still iffy if you ask me. If Jimmy Williams is there at 16 i'd take him.

not happening and dont want it to happen.....no more draft picks please!!!

I would love to have him as well but we really do not have the picks.

Unless you want to replace Zach Thomas with him, we've got no use for a linebacker his size.
