the herald says we are interested in him since we didnt get arrington, and since sedrick hodge hasnt wowed anyone. it says if he was released, but what do you think it would take to get him in a trade? considering how they lost brees this offseason and everything. edwards is 33, but he is still performing at a top 5 level

I don't want to give up a pick for him, if he's released on June 1st and he comes at a good price, I guess. But, we just signed Keith newman.

newman is a nice pickup, but adding edwards would be like adding another zach thomas on the field. he is that good.

For a good price, I would bring him in, but not for a pick.

donnie edwards is deff a top 5 lb in this league and i do agree that it would be like adding another zach thomas like wulf said, we have to get this guy if he becomes available

I would sign him to a 3 year 12 million contract but we only have a little left but were probably gonna release people on the june cuts.

Don`t forget, Zach and Jason still haven`t reconstructed their contract, so we can afford him. I`m looking forward to it. :)

Seriously? Top five? I agree Edwards would be a good pick-up, but keep it in perspective.

I have to agree with my cohorts on this one. Donnie is a must have at the right price. Signing him for like 3 years would certainly fill all holes at linebacker. Then we can start cutting dead weight like Eddie Moore and such. Then if we could just find a guy on the line that fits the 3-4, damn we would have a nice defense to watch this year. You guys are getting me to psyched. Stop posting this stuff until we are in negotiations with the guy. I don't want this to turn into another Lavarr Arrington fiasco.

Sure, Edwards is athletic enough to run with RBs and TEs and he can rush the passer; but the guy just doesn't like contact. That's kinda a deal killer for an LB.
