McNABB DONE?
Weeks after being diagnosed with a sports hernia, Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will miss his first game due to the condition, and it remains possible that he will undergo surgery sooner rather than later to repair the condition.
With only seven games remaining, a decision by McNabb to have the procedure most likely would end his season.
"I'm not in any hurry to get up under a knife," McNabb said Wednesday. "I think that's just kind of natural for anyone."
But McNabb definitely will have the surgery, at some point. He's scheduled to see a specialist on Thursday.
In our view, it'll be tough for McNabb to shut it down. Even if the Eagles lose on Sunday at the Giants, their final six games are potentially winnable, with four at home and the only road games at St. Louis and Arizona.
Still, McNabb's condition isn't anything that's going to get better with rest, ice, and/or a bull-rider's massage. From the moment that the hernia was diagnosed, the team and the player realized that the condition wouldn't improve without a visit with Dr. Nick Riviera and his rusty pen knife.
It's from PFT, so take it as you will.
