Don't blame tanny blame the new scheme

The new system wants to feature Mike Wallace in contrast to last year's which featured mostly Hartline. Last year mike was mostly a decoy, a very expensive one at that. Tanny is used to Brian Hartline he trust him more. Wallace is a one trick pony-a speed guy. Chemistry requires hard work and patience. So all the new changes will take a while to manifest, it doesn't that there were lots of drops today. Hang n there folks, things will get better. 10-6 and playoffs still!

Let's summarize:
- it is the WRs
- it is the OL
- it is the OC
- it is the HC
- it is the RBs
- now we add the new scheme to it

We covered pretty much everything. O wait. It was too cold in Buffalo, only 65F.

It's his 2nd game in this scheme.

I would not be comfortable claiming RT17 is a bust or a boom at this point. I don't think any unbiased person would. IMO he can improve or fold at this point.

And if he doesn't get better this season we can always say:
- it was just his first year in this scheme and we should give him another year. Then we fire the OC and start over again.

I think you covered it! All off season it was this is Tannehill's year he becomes elite! Lazier is a qb guru! This is a qb friendly system! Now it is we need to be patient, it takes 8 weeks for a qb to learn a new system.

there's nothing wrong with the new scheme...despite all our woes sunday we had opportunities to make big plays and failed...the tempo is what needs to pick up and it will...i have no doubts...the oc put us in position for mismatch opportunities we just didnt make good on them...faster tempo will provide more of those opportunities the other thing though is there's too many college like wr screens with a wr core that can't block...if you are gonna work more of those you need to work them off fast tempo...also miami needs to work more screens to the rbs in the gameplan if the opposition is blitzing you all the time... little adjustments here and there more than anything else needed...so far the real key is tempo...
The Bills were not blitzing all the time. I will watch the 2nd half again tonight but in the first half they rushed four on 13 of 16 dropbacks. That's why our screens weren't successful.

I do agree with you on the tempo. But have you considered that Tannehill may have a problem running an up-tempo offense. It requires accuracy, reading defenses, avoiding blitzes. Thse are already problem areas for him in a 'huddle-for-two-hours' offense.
I know everybody points to the first drive against Atlanta in preseason but seem to forget that this was also Atlanta's first game coming out of camp. Plus at this point Atlanta's D does not look like they can shut down anybody.

Absolutely nobody is going to say that. It's playoffs or bust. As far as I know we're not eliminated yet. If we do get eliminated every single person will have had enough.

I hope this comment was in jest.

Nope I was told that several times yesterday. Best I figure Bruce Arians made the comment last year how after 8 games Palmer figured the system out and that is why his play was way better. Well that was what was quoted anyway. I figure by week 10-12 of mediocrity the battle cry will be he needs 1 more season in the new system.

i saw as clean lb up the middle an awful lot...certain downs and distances it sure looked like they brought pressure

tannehill thru 2 years has been a boss in the 2 minute...so no i havent considered that

Blame everyone/everything but him. Stfu! So tired of reading excuses about our poor qb play. Even when he the to hartline all the time we still lose.

so far i dont see evidence it's a lack of knowing the new system as far as the offense itself...the balls not being thrown into coverage...what i think will get better in time is the ball will come out faster on some things as he sees defenses and finds holes in tape study etc and gets familiar with routes...but the bottom line again for the 1000th time is the execution is what must get better...from the qb to the pass receivers...the qb will take the brunt of it and i get it...he's got 14 weeks to show what he's about...i expect to see this qb execute better as the season progresses...and if not well then miami will have some thinking to do going forward...if you think though miamis gonna have a better option any time soon i got news for ya...this teams not gonna be picking low enough to get any of the real qbs in this upcoming class and the ones that will get to us are crap prospects...and if you think matt moores a better option lmao you're nuts...he may hit a deep ball but he sure as hell would fumble snaps and miss open targets in this system and take bad sacks...

this is your qb folks...like it or not...and he's the best option for this and next year at least...

Don't worry we are Dolphin fans we are used to average/poor qb play! It is like a young Tom Brady with better legs!
