Tony Sparano chose a starting lineup early in camp and has stuck with it for the last four weeks. The idea is that, the starters need as many reps together as possible to be confident playing with each other for Week 1 because they didn’t get that practice time this summer during the lockout.

The starting offensive line hasn’t performed well so far, with Vernon Carey and Marc Colombo combining to allow five negative plays in the first half Saturday against the Bucs. Monday, Sparano got defensive when asked to assess the progress of the line.

“I think you guys think that this can happen overnight,” Sparano said. “My watch doesn’t say that. It takes a long time to get a line prepared to play, and defensive lines will be way further ahead than offensive lines.”

Re-enforcements are out there. Former Pro Bowl center Shaun O’Hara, who visited the Dolphins in the first week of training camp, is still available. Former Cowboys Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode was cut yesterday by Dallas.

But don’t expect either player, or any other offensive lineman, to sign with Miami to help fix the right side of the offensive line.

The Dolphins have decided to go with Carey at right guard and Colombo at right tackle, and for better or worse, seem intent on sticking with that combo – even after their brutal performance Saturday against the Bucs.

When does your watch say it will work Tony? Half past never?

Don’t expect re-enforcements to be coming on the offensive line

It's settled then.

We're sucking early on (at least).

its your funeral tony...your gonna let your own stubbornness send you right out the door...

its called you got washed up guys on the right side and a guy playing out of position at left guard...but hey...when your unemployed it will be all your own doing...

There is absolutely no reason we should be content with this line when there are probowl caliber guys out there. We have to gi out there and bring these guys in yesterday!

I lack the patience and resourceful to flesh it out, but would be curious as to just how relatively well statistically this OL "guru" fared when coordinating the Cowboys' front line.

I was considering paying for NFL Sunday Ticket but I am not wasting my money this year
I will catch the games that come on tv here and that is enough. We will be out of it by week 5 anyway. The good thing is that in next years draft we know what we need to do. We will need a RT, Running back, tight end, and a DT. Hopefully we don't get Henne killed or totally destroy his confidence or we may need to draft a quarterback.

We will need
primary needs: starting RT, RG, LG, seam TE
Secondary needs: 3rd down rush OLB, ILB depth, big RB, S depth
Wild card: QB (depending on Hennes development)

For God's sake at least take Colombo out. That guy has been a turnstile for over a year. Damn you Sparano.....wake up!

If I didn't know any better I would say Tony wants to take the ship down. A lame duck coach who wants to make someone pay for the embarassment that was the offseason. Now I know that will never be acknowledged, but it could be going on in a subtle manner. Sticking with this line sounds like intentional implosion. Maybe we will all be surprised. I hope so.

According to Omar, Gurode's knees are shot and he's not in good enough shape to play center anymore.

Really Tony?...Your gonna place your future as Miami Dolphins head coach in the hands of Marc Colombo and an under performing Vernon Carey?

This isn't just about Gurode. This article seems to imply that our front office doesn't feel anything needs to be done.
