Don't forget about Ronnie

It seems that the reemergance of Ricky Williams has caused a lot of people to overlook the importance of Ronnie Brown to this team.

Ricky is very talented no doubt, but he has a lot of question marks:

-Ricky is 32, which makes him clearly older than most elite rb's.

- he has screwed us over in the past and its impossible to assume he couldnt do it again.

- He's been out of the league for 2 years.

My point is not to bash Ricky. Believe me, I know how great Ricky can be.I just think that we should treat Ricky Williams more as a bonus than a saviour. Ronnie Brown is still going to need to play a pivotal role on this team this year.

Ronnie Brown is going to need to get healthy again and stay that way for one whole complete season in order to play a pivotal role on the team,and Ricky Williams just needed the right people running that team to bring out the old Ricky. i think with Parcells in charge overall,Ricky will be motivated to do real good and stay off the pot.

Ronnie needn't hurry back and that is a good thing. He is a stud and needs to get 100% healthy. RW will allow that to happen. It's a great situation.

I don't get why everyone has so much faith in Ricky. He is one bong hit away from having a lifetime ban from the NFL. Running backs get dinged up. Very few running backs play every game through a hole NFL season. Ronnie had a freak injury because he was trying to make a tackle. If I had to invest my season in one running back it would be Ronnie

thanks and the problem wiht Ronnie is when he gets the full load as the game goes on he gest better cuz he gets the vibe of the game and the holes and he picks it up that way. for instance, he'll get a 2 yard run then another 1 yarder and the netx one hell bust out for 15 yards. he isnt a i come in for 4 reps and avg 5 yards on all those or what not. he kinda like ricky at one point got better as the game went on. so i dono how splitting carries will benefit him. just look at the first 2 games of last year hten after that hwen he got hte full load.

What is the point you're trying to make? Seriously, I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying not to have faith in RW because you expect him to be banned again or is it that you feel he is going to get hurt or maybe both hurt, then banned??:unsure:

The kid cut his teeth as a running back splitting carries. He'll be fine.

Just a correction Ricky is 31 not 32..

I'm certainly not worried about Ricky getting high this year....the only way he misses time this year is if he gets injured.

I hope Ronnie does have a big part in this offense this year to prolong Ricky's career.

Why I believe Ricky will have a sucessfull season this year. Ricky needs money and this is his final year of his contract. He is not playing because he fell in love with Parcells or the Dolphins. He might like the current organazation and may hope that we resign him, but that is not why he is playing so hard. He wants to get paid. I think he is desperate enough for money that he isnt going to get high but its the unkown substance that can trigger a positive that concerns me. A player can be considered to test positive for too much water in their system because the NFL considers that a masking agent. He better be careful about using any form of a detoxidant.

Ronnie, splitting carries and freak accidents aside plain and simple has yet to earn what the team has invested in him. At this moment to date Ronnie has not earned praise for his production. When and if he does he will recieve the appropiate acculades that go with it.
