I have been a true fan since I was 5 years old and watching my Dad cheer on the best team in the history of the NFL. I remember after the 17-0 season being in a parade in my Dolphins uniform riding on the hood of our car. I remember for the longest time being the favorite to win almost every game we were in, and most certainly any HOME game. I remember dominating the AFC East. I remember Don Shula having his team prepared for every team they faced.

Today and for a very long time now all I can remember is how good it used to be. Every year I get excited about the possibility of new NFL season. Uncertainty is the name of our game now. We are the epitome of the saying "Any given Sunday". But any hope of being the dominant team we used to be has been dashed season after season.

I know nothing about owning or running a professional football team. I would not be able to tell anyone who is a good owner, bad owner, mediocre owner, good GM, bad GM...you get the picture. But I do know that something is wrong with our team.

We are broken...somewhere. And I don't blame anyone for whining, moaning or complaining about our team.

Whining is something a spoiled kid does. Fans of the Dolphins have been anything but spoiled. Frustration and discontent is far more than warranted.

I don't hate the whiners. I avoid the b1tch fest threads and I realize it comes with the territory. I just get a bit annoyed how every thread gets hijacked into a b1tchthread or a haters vs homers pissing contest. A thread could be about a potential FA visit but within 5 posts it turns into Ireland sucks

My main point is I doubt there is anyone on this forum that has any experience in owning or running a professional team. Nor is there anyone who is familiar with what owners and GM's do nearly as much as they are familiar with the end product on the field.

You doubt while I know for a fact no one here has run a professional team. That doesn't mean people don't act like they know what they're talking about though.

I see the end result of the Dolphins yearly. Do I need to be an owner to know they aren't doing a great job?

Those that act like they know do so out of ignorance. I have seen many episodes of Grey's Anatomy(my wife watches it...I swear) but I would not be able to perform surgery if my life depended on it. My first inclination is not to blame the owners or GM for a loss on Sunday. I would tend to think there is blame deserved for them for years and years of mediocre football.

Yeah yeah, we've been told a million times that we've never been owners, never been GMs, never been coaches, and never been players. We get it. What does that have to do with the fact that this team has been **** over the last decade, other than the fact that many of those that have never been owners, never been GMs, never been coaches, and never been players, have been RIGHT quite often? There were plenty of us who didn't buy into the hype last offseason and saw the team for what it was, and guess what, we were right. Again.

dlock said it best in another thread, I'm pretty sure I could put together a 6-10 team, despite having never been an owner, never been a GM, never been a coach, and never been a professional player.

Honestly, do you believe you could even run a scrimmage successfully?

Sure... not only did I stay at a Holiday Inn that had Madden PS3... but I also studied at the University of Finheaven... I can step in and run the whole show..

Yep. And I know plenty on here (TedSlimmJr for example) that definitely could. WV or JCane would be a far better GMs. Unfortunately, they were never part of the ol' boys club that gets you those kind of jobs. That being said, I figured you'd focus on that part of my post rather than the part that completely destroyed your argument. We aren't pro owners, pro coaches, pro GMs, or pro players, many of the "whiners" have been RIGHT, while the blind homers that whine about the "whiners" have been dead WRONG. So, speak for yourself when you state that fans don't know what they're talking about and continue blindly praising every move this team makes.

The funny thing is, that your argument completely voids your own opinion as well. Voids the entire message board really. If the only thing that matters is the views of the owners, GMs, coaches, and players; what the hell are you doing here? This isn't a Miami Dolphins cheerleader board. It's a place for fans to express their opinions on the state of the team and more often than not check out some of dreday's amazing work in the Ladies Lounge. But no, how dare they express a negative view if they haven't been pro owners, pro GMs, pro coaches, or pro players. Let's all be lemmings and buy our tickets with blind faith in the all holy Miami Dolphins. Blind homerism is the way to go, because fans don't know what they're talking about.

It's a MBoard, this place was built on a river of whining. Nothing new. The same ppl were whining when we were going to the play-offs year in year out. These are the same ppl that use to boo Marino when he had a bad game, and would cheer when he won games for us. And save the BS that never happened. It use to happen within minutes of each other at times. That's how classy the AVG Dolphin fan is.

Why should Dolphin fans be any different than the AVG person on the street. People love to complain. I say go for it, whatever floats your boat.
