PERSONNEL ANALYSIS: Backup QB Billy Volek had arthroscopic knee surgery after the season, but is expected to be back at full strength in time for offseason workouts. Where Volek plays next season is a bit uncertain, however. After six NFL seasons, he wants to be a starter. But if Steve McNair returns to the Titans with a new contract, Volek's chance to do that won't be in Tennessee in '06. There's a chance the Titans could trade him at some point, especially if the team ends up drafting a QB with the No.3 pick. With USC's Matt Leinart and/or Texas' Vince Young on the board, that's a real possibility. Volek has a strong arm, and when he's had a chance to play regularly he's played well. But his opportunities were few and far between in '05, which didn't allow him to get a lot of chemistry with the team's young receivers. . . .
This is from Sporting News.com....Tennessee team reports. This guy could be the next hidden gem in the NFL...McNair stays...and they will draft one or the other top QB....so Volek is the odd man out....kind of like Sage will be with us. I think He's worth a look....a serious long look....along with drafting a young guy.
