I know Miami is talking about trading down and that could be a viable option if they get a lot in return or move down a few spots. Although this is not considered a great draft at the top there are three defensive linemen who I think are elite players - Dorsey, C. Long and Ellis. I would hate to see Miami miss on one of those guys by trading down too far. Of the three I like Chris Long's potential the best, although it would be nice to have a dominate DT in the middle of the defense.

i think we should leak something that says we are really really considering Matt Ryan. Okay. so now if Atlanta believes us they might try making a move and trade with us if that is the guy they want, which i think is there guy. so then on draft day we contact them or they contact us and we get a trade done IF and Only IF, they win there coin toss for the #3 pick. That way they take matt ryan, and St. Louis will take eith dorsey chris long or jake long. then its our pick. we would still be able to take Chris Long or Dorsey, (i think chris long will be left cuz St. Louis will take dorsey). we could pick up either Atlanta's they 2nd they got from Houston or a third or even CB Hall. If we still are getting calls because McFadden is still on the board we can still listen to them. Dallas probably would still want to trade for Mcfadden and we might be able to get a good value trade for him because they wont have to pay #1 overall money for him. and the worst thing that happens if we trade down with Altanta is that we cant trade out and we take Chris Long or Dorsey (the guys we are targeting at #1 IMO) for less money than than signing them #1 overall and getting an extra pick or player from atlanta.

so if you here that we are interested in matt ryan, keep in mind it is most likely a smokescreen

Dorsey is the only one of those three that is elite. Long is very good, but not elite.

Ellis is not even in the conversation with those two.

I think leaking that we might take Matt Ryan would be the most believable smokescreen we could put out there. But then we have to hope his combine is impressive enough to make teams get on the phone for the #1.

You know everyone wants to talk about teams trading up for McFadden, but no one ever seems to consider we may be getting calls for teams targeting Long and Dorsey. There is a reason their names are all over the place for us and I guarantee you there will be some teams in love with them. How much would we need to trade down when another team is trying to take a guy we most likely covet?

Agree. I was saying this a few days ago. It might not be likely for this to happen but, I think besides Dallas, it's our only shot.

Well it might be a smokescreen or maybe they see him as a franchise Qb that this team lacks who knows till April.

What you rather have?

Chris Long

Or
Phillip Merling and Antoine Cason/DRC?

I'll take Dorsey -or- C Long @1 and Antoine Cason/DRC @2nd rounder...

as of now there are 4 or 5 CB's that almost equal, and 4 or 5 OT's almost equal as well 1 or more of each are bound to drop to the #32 pick.
