Nobody here seems to remember that he is only 28 and has all kinds of potential. He has been stuck on some crappy teams. Don't be surprised if he is starting week one. He has the skills.

yes he does have skills and thats why miami have brought this guy in. Beck is not the future is is only one year youger than McCowan and has alot less experience. i can see McCowan developing through the year or Henne being brought in to start i dont see Becks Future as a Starter.

wow, not gonna lie, i had forgot he was even on the team... In any case, I say more power to him. If he's better than Beck and Henne, then stick him in there. I don't really care who starts as long as we W I N !

i hear you man... as long as we win, it dosn't matter who's under center...

I think this is set up to be an open competition. None of our three QB's has the inside track, not one! I'll support the decision, no matter who it is.

Josh is another guy who probably has never been given a fair shot, he always seems to be the guy who comes in and cleans up the mess. I just wonder why everyone keeps giving up on him though?

No doubt in my mind, Josh will start for the entire season barring injury.

Experience plus skills plus opportunity (the right situation at the right time).

Will be an interesting TC and pre-season due to the QB competition. As long as we get one clear cut solid QB out of the process, I don't care who wins. Just someone please step up and take control and win the job (not everyone else lose it - like has happened the last couple years).

I'm glad we picked up McCown. I wanted us to sign him after Arizona released him, but we went with Harrington instead. I don't think that he'll be amazing, but at least we didn't give away a pick to see if he can be decent.

Our starter will either be McCown or Beck. McCown has some experience and will start if Beck does not impress. I just don't see Henne coming in and starting right away.

Well - I think two of the three guys have the inside track given they (McCown and Henne) were brought in by this management team. Beck has his work cut out for him.

McCown is the experienced one so he will start day one, give Henne and Beck some more time

Before last year I would not have agreed with you. I had seen him make a lot of poor throws in AZ (he had a bad habit of hitting WRs' feet when he threw on the run, among other things), but in 2007 he really came into his own. Sure, he was on a crappy team, but his poise and pocket presence were light years ahead of what they had been before, and I really think he made that offense better when he was under center.

BTW Nice PRS.

I remember and I know this kid's a competitor. Beck or Henne may be the sexy choice since we just drafted them but I think old lionheart wins down the stretch.

I know that McCown has all kinds of talent, but he has 1,145 drop backs and has been sacked 93 times. I know he's played on some pretty poor offensive lines, but 1 sack for every 12.31 drop backs is terrible by any standard. I know a good OL can help some, but part of what makes an OL look good or bad is the QB/RB, and I worry that we have 2 QB's that, in their limited amount of time in the NFL, haven't shown the ability to avoid the rush while in the pocket. I'm not sure we can expect much better from a rookie either.....

I can just imagine, it's week 3 of the regular season, and all our fans proclaiming how bad our OL is and ____ has no time to throw the ball.
