Don't we absolutely positively have to have Ron Brace?

There are like zero other options. And the other 3-4 teams are going to be after him as well.

Taking Ron Brace before the 3rd round would be a catastrophic blunder, the guy just isn't disruptive and moves laterally far too poorly to ever be more than a big lump in the middle.

Why? There are few prospects for NT, I will agree, but why waste a pick? Some others have been mentioned. Don't forget Knighton from Temple either.

What makes you think Ron Brace will ever be a player in this league? Certainly not his performance in college. 5 years from now you would look back and roast Tuna for making the pick you are asking for today. You can't make Ron Brace be the stud NT you'd like just because he looks the part in shorts.

Ron Brace has graded out to be like a second round pick so why would it be a blunder to take him in the second.

I think it would be a blunder for the Dolphins to take Brace that high (although 56 would be a slight disappointment rather than a disaster) but that doesn't mean I don't think he's a 2nd rounder for teams playing the right scheme. I think Ron Brace only finds himself on the Radar as a 2nd rounder because he's 6'3" 330 and experts see a guy with those measurables and a lot of teams that need nose tackles and just put 2 and 2 together. Brace has the size you look and is strong enough at the point of attack but doesn't demand double teaming because he's mediocre off the snap, only gets up field, sheds blocks poorly and doesn't move well laterally. I actually think Brace would be better served as a nose guard in a 4-3 where he could allow a more disruptive player to flourish like Booger McFarland did next to Sapp and as Brace did at BC. In the 3-4 however I personally feel Brace just doesn't possess enough of the required attributes to be a first day pick

I like Ron Brace...he can take space but I'd not go up to get him...if he's there at 44 then we might take him there....but with Bill you just never know...I do know that we need a big NT soon.

Ozzy rules!!

His size and the fact he is from BC (playing next to Raji) has him ranked higher than he should be.

Apparently, and I dont recall where I read this (Possibly one of boomer's reports), BP and Ireland havent drafted a NT (DT) that big before. Everyone knows BP likes big guys, but apparently not THAT big at NT. If I remember right the article said he hasnt taken a NT over 300lbs before (I could be wrong and the facts could be wrong). Now that is draft weight, not playing weight.

Also, I have a feeling with all the new 3-4 teams this year someone will reach a bit for him. He could very well go in the first round, but I dont think the Fins would consider him before maybe 2b.

My gut tells me that if Peria Jerry is still on the board at 25 we will be taking him, if not I dont see us grabbing a NT till the second day.

Pass on Brace, take a developmental kid in the 2nd day and hope he pans out, if not look to next year.
