Donte Stallworth interested in Miami

Ahh, the oldest trick in the book: make up the other side's argument and then disprove it.

I've watched Donte for years. He's a bigger Ashley Lelie, with an added ability to avoid the jam (but, then again, Bea Arthur is more physical than Lelie) and smoother routes. But he drops balls--and always has--and he's the very definition of streaky. He'll be paid on potential, and perform as the player he is. There's a reason the Saints gave up on him. But just like every other fast and inconsistent WR, he'll have suiters out the door sporting the rosiest of shades, waiting for their chance to Snyder the hell out of him.

Also, keep in mind that even when he starts, he's not always healthy. He frequently played lame for the Saints with tweaked hamstrings. He's built like a sprinter, which means a bit frail. He was around 5% bodyfat in 2005, and guys like that cramp up and get injured more easily (fat surrounds and protects muscle). If you want a good example, check out some of the serious bodybuilding documentaries; when they get their BF that low, they can go catatonic in muscle shock and are very fragile.

But don't worry, you have company:

How does saying that Donte' Stallworth shows up 4, 5 games a year translate into my comfort with Marty Booker? Did they cancel FA and the draft this year?
Good assessment of Donte. I think he's going to get a big paychecque; much bigger than he deserves. He's a streaky player -ask any Saints fan- that is often injured.

I'd like to see us pick up Stallworth. I could live with him and Chambers, and keep Welker and Hagan. Keep in mnd it wouldn't bother me to see Chambers traded - I question his drive and dedication.

I'd still draft a quick WR to return in the draft.

Not intentional. If I misinterpreted your "showing up for 3,4 games a year" to not mean anything more than his injury history, my bad.

Perhaps, but I'll trust Mueller's judgment on this. If bodyfat percentage was an unsolvable detriment they wouldn't bother drafting a lot of these guys. To me, it's guys like this that good teams often turn into players. With his baggage, I'm not sure how much of a market there will be, as most teams have at least one guy that can get deep. If the price is reasonable, just the threat of his speed could open up this offense.

I do like this kid but hes hurt alot.If the money is right then i would love to have him.

No one has mentioned the best idea... sign Stallworth to an incentive-laden contract. So, something a little over the veteran minimum, with bonuses based on yards gained, games played, etc. That's what you have to do with guys who have injury histories like that, or guys like Ricky who've been known to flake.
Lessen the teams risk, while increasing the athletes possibility for financial reward. Philly is not known for being overly aggressive in free agency, and if they don't show Donte a little respect, he just may jump ship to a team where he has ties... enter Mueller into the picture. It could happen. I think if they can keep his hammies loose over a full season, him and Chambers could be a dangerous combo. I see DS as a middle of the pack #1 WR (when 100%), CC as a great #2, and Booker as an excellent #3.
Now take Ricky and Ronnie, and man... that's plain scary!

Can't wait til we draft S Reggie Nelson:wink: then I will start him and yes Bell is great at SS.

prob with bell, drops INT's as the WHOLE TEAM does and lacks teh tackling ability as he seems a bit small where as Allen looks like a small LB in the S spot. Allen creates a lot of fumbles and INT's but only guy next on the list is Daniels, goodman and bell dont tackle well or INT at all. CRowder adn ZT are next on the team as far as creating INT's.

With Crowder I get the maximun sacks, then it doesn't register as sacks just tackles.

You don't have R. Hill at SS and Bell at FS?? Try that a few games and see how that works for you.

naw haven't tried that. I put adams at SOLB due to speed and spragan at MLB via 2nd string so he gets teh nod there on the 3-4 package. works best. you get adams at 82 spd and acc with crowder at 79 and 86 rushign the edges. its pretty deadly if you time the Defense u pick right. I use J at FS due to his speed and just how good he actually does play in the game other hten the 77 rating (if u have the online update) and bell is so so. he is veyr solid in the game but doenst create things.

Blitz Crowder off the edge, he can chades down the QB, but hit dive as your blizting, works all the time.

I use Crowder,Adams and Zach, not in that order but you know.

Who is your O-line, starters???
