wow what a rough game for us fans to watch.so much contraversey surronding todays game now let me express my feelings about todays game.
Daunte Culpepper- daunte, daunte, daunte.Now he made some early mistakes on the fourth drive and totally killed that drive him self with those two fumbles. Daunte lacks confidence as alot of people can already tell.When daunte had plenty of time to throw the ball he threw it real well/not any bad drops by the recievers like last week.daunte and his decision making isnt very good.last week the choice to throw the ball to porter this week to that linebacker.that was a crucial mistake and it did cost us the momentum we needed heading into the locker room.now overall dauntes stats were pretty decent.the touchdown pass to chris chambers was a nice thrown ball but a little bit to much out in front but chris chambers snagged it.everyone is already saying bring in harrington.i dont undersatnd why.yes i was very impressed by him in the pre season against carolina but we must remember its week 3 this coming week.now lets say if its week 5 or week 6 and we are 2-3 or under than thats the time harrington comes in.overall for my view on culpepper, he made a slight improvement from last game, he didnt underthrow andy recievers.The one thing i will say is culpepper is taking baby steps in this offense.
Running Backs- Ronnie Brown looks like a top 10 league back most definately.he had 120 overall yards.i love ronnie and this is why hes my favorite player.when he touched the ball on 3rd and short yardage situations he really took it more than one yards he took it 5-10 yards running over defenders.Ronnie is definately a player that culpepper is starting to take advantage of in the flat which is great.im lovin it.ronnie was the best player on that field today.Lee suggs did pretty decent for his first game as a fin.he had 3 carries for nearly 20 yards i believe.he has one good run which was a first down.for not practicing to long he didnt look to bad in there.
Wide Recievers- What happened to Chris Chambers? we have got to give him some more looks.we know his talent and we are not taking advantage of it.im noticing that we dont look his way till late in the second half like last game vs. pittsburgh and then this game we did late to.we have got to get chambers the ball early and often. Marty Booker is another guy that needs some more looks.he had that one great catch today for about 20+ yards.Randy Mcmichael had some good plays but its obvious hes doing more blocking which i dont think he should do because of his talent of catching it and making a play. Wes Welker seems to be one of culpeppers favorite targets.he continuosly impresses me as a reciever week after week.i really see him getting a decent amount of scores this year.
Offensive Line(in general)- decent run blocking for brown but sometimes let go of blocks and they got brown for losses but thats going to happen.Pass Blocking:shakeno: 7 sacks is unacceptable.ive heard people say those seven sacks are culpeppers fault and thats just plain non sense.7 sacks isnt good.some of those sacks killed our drives when we started moving the ball.but then there were times when we had some excellent pass blocking and thats when culpepper made some real good plays passing.the one thing i must say is we cant make culpepper get flushed out of the pocket and force him to scramble because thats when he makes bad decisions aka that int.
Defense
Defensive line- 2 sacks is not very good especially on jp losman.we did pressure losman and did some good things on the line.our run stopping wasnt doing very good today willis mcgahee had 90+ rushing yards and demolished us but we were missing big daddy wilkinson.so that was a hit we didnt want.overall some good plays and some not so good plays.
linebackers- Thomas had 2 tackles and then 3 assisted and crowder had 1 tackle and 4 assissted.what happend?wheres crowder been so far.i love crowder he is one of my favorite players and he not showing up so far.thomas has been doing average but we are hurting without a playmaker linebacker alongside thomas and crowder.the one and only reason i can think of is why our linebackers arent getting to the ball is similar to the ray lewis situation the defensive line.last year crowder and thomas were unstoppable.this year they havent really shined so far.thomas has shined but not as much as usual.i dont know what the problem is.
Secondary- much improved since last week as we all can say.our one problem with our secondary is NO INTERCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!! we have got to make a play by getting a turnover.its really hard to win a game not getting a turnover.we have to get a playmaker.i think this week will be different with daniels likely coming back.we didnt alow three td's like last week but for some reason i think we should give our first round draft choice jason allen some playing time to see what he can do next week against the titans especially if vince young plays:wink: yeramiah beel made plays and andre goodman did good breaking up 1-2 passes and will allen did good except the one pass interference call.but much improvement since last week.
Final thougts- What was up with the play calling?mularky really dissapointed me the most.i think he needs to find culpeppers strength in certain play calls soon and use those plays more often.and one more thing about mularky..... why didnt we give the Dang ball to ronnie more.talk about one problem with the playcalling is the misuse of using ronnie.ronnie was owning that defense today and should of had well over 20 carries not 15.i know we were playing catch up and was forced to throw it but if the passing game doesnt work then why not run it which was working.i hope mularky uses ronnie alot more next week..Next week vs. Tennesse no doubt should be a win.if we dont win next week everything will go hectic.next week i see culpepper dominating tennessee's defense i see him having two touchdowns through the air.ronnie brown will also do his part.

31-7 miami over tennesse i see a big home winner and culpepper shows everyone why harrington wont be getting that starting spot anytime soon.i see the defense getting 2 total turnovers.overall a domination that gets us right on track.
