yes yes we lost but maybe this lost was a good thing for us.i know everyone is pissed aboutstarting our "playoff run year" 0-1 but this could work for us.im going to break down everything about the game in my opinion postion by position.

Culpepper- where should i start.i thought he played a little bit above average.this was his first game in about over a year so there was a lot of pressure for him to see what he could do last night.i thought he had great accuracy on some passes but then i counted 3 times he threw the ball to low to the ground before it got to the wide reciever.one time it could of been a potential first down.we saw good arm strength on that long ball to chambers but there was double coverage.the negatives: his decision making(two mistakes) and he has to get rid of the ball eventually.he got sacked three times lat night because of holding the ball to long.hes gotta trust his knee and take off running a little bit more instead of being sacked for six yards and potentially kill that drive.some of his throwing decisions bothered me alot.the throw to chambers and the endzone almost picked off.they have to work on the timing.the int by polamalu.he shouldve over thrwon it not under throw it.and the porter int was great for him to see.it was a mistake but also a great play by porter and good play call by the defense.hes gotta recognize that fake rush and drop back in the next few games.overall i was alot more impressed with culpepper in his opened than frerrotte in his:wink:. i think its pretty good that cpep struggled a little bit.now for the next couple days he has more extended time to watch film of himself and correct himself.

Ronnie Brown- i love ronnie brown.he had absolutly no blocking last night except on a few plays and he really tried trucking for extra yards.he has greatly improved from lat year.what i mean by this, last year when we would be inside the five yard line, we would hand it off to ronnie and he would have a hard time of finishing off the drive.well as we saw last night he finished off two drives by putting up some scores.i was reall happy to see ronnie have a good game.he migh have had not so many rushing yards but the 6's is what counts:wink:but he did well recieving to.

offensive line- they had their ups and downs.they did well in red zone blocking ost of the time.they did give cpep alot of time for at least 70% of his passes.but they have to learn how to pick up certain blitzes.last night there were three missed blocks that ended up in sacks.what i mean when i say missed block is they it the guy then let him go.but the run blocking was pretty bad till later in the game.we started out rough but they will go over there mistakes in film.

wide recievers- chris chambers was no where to be seen last night but wes welker showed everyone including myself why he made the number three spot over hagan.welker really was unbelievable last night.chambers dropped a touchdown catch for sure but it was a pretty tough catch by the way right when he turned he had to try to catch it and it went through his hands.chambers did well on short passes to the outside one on one.marty booker dropped that perfect pass by cpep on the play he got hurt.he probably dropped it because it hit his stomach but he did get that 50yd recpetion which was good.hagan made a nice first down grab for what i belive a 20+ yard gain.randy mcmichael when his number was called showed up.i think cpep must look his way more often.

Defense

defensive line- one sack is unacceptable.especially knowing batch isnt as moblie as many other QB's.keith traylor made some great plays for losses chasing parker down in the backfield.jason taylor made good plays to but on the fourth down got outrun by parker which should happen because of the age difference.i didnt see to much from big daddy out there but he did clog up the wholes for runs and so did traylor.

Linebackers- zach thomas did his usual thing and did well tackling but got sheded off that one time by parker and he got a big gain.its going to happen sometime.channing crowder made some plays but was quiet on the night.but as a whole the linebackers got a B Grade to me.

secondary:shakeno:- i knew this part of the defense would be the problem way before the season started.talk about a weak link.they let up 3 touchdowns from charlie batch. thats unacceptable what happens when we have to play tom brady and especially other good QB's.they didnt really make any special plays to me.very dissapointed and this is a good reason why we lost lat night.they better study the films extra extra hard.

Special teams-Welker.thats all you have to say.he did amazing last night.he ran a good one back that set up a brown TD.we did a good coverage on punts and kickoffs on holmes.

I dont think our secondary played all that bad, with the exception of one player.

Minus an 87 yard pass to Miller (blown coverage by Zach Thomas) we would have held Chalie Batch to 14 of 24 for 122 and 2 touchdowns. The first of these comes on a 27 Yd Pass to Nate Washington, which was a great play. If our safety would have played the ball instead of the reciever (or laid a big hit) it would have been incomplete. The second touchdown comes from a blown coverage by the individual I stated above as having a horrible game, Andre Goodman.

He was also flagged for a 23 yard pass interfernce penalty (setting up a score) and should have been called on another one. After that he had a blown covergae on Ward for a TD. You cannot lose track of Hines Ward in the endzone.

On the fourth down conversion run by Willie Parker with Jason Taylor also closing in he failed to attack the ball. He stayed in position to make the tackle but this was behind the first down marker. Horrible, you must have a sense of position on the field.

Out of their 7 of 15 3rd down conversions a majority also came against him. One porblem our secondary did have as a whole was defending their triple bunch set.

We do have things to look forward to, like the return of Daniels meaning Goodman will not be starting. Another would be when Jason Allen earning his starting role, limiting the amount of big plays other teams our putting up against our average safties.

zach did blow coverage but where was the saftey needing to help him.were both safetys blitzing.

but the first td that pittsburgh got i cant remember which corner it was but he as to knock that ball out of the recivers hands.it was there for him but instead he wanted to go for the hit
