Even though most say Dorsey isn't ideal for the 3-4 defense, he is 315 pounds, has a great motor, is a great citizen and is the best defensive player in the draft.
His recent workouts showed no affects from the knee injury and unlike Long and Gholston wouldn't have to learn new positions and schemes.

Dorsey actually measured in at about 297 I believe but he has the ability to gain weight if needed. To me, Dorsey is the best player in this draft. The guy is going to be a multiple pro bowler. As for fitting in the 3-4, he definitely can do it. He can play any position on the line. He can play the nose, the 3 technique, 3-4 end, and a 4-3 power end. He can do it all. He has the strength to anchor and occupy the double team. The long arms to keep separation from OL. To me though, his best fit would be in a 4-3. The best thing he does is penetrate the backfield. Putting him in the 3-4 wouldnt utilize his best assest. However, he would do just fine in the 3-4.

I believe strongly he can just about do what he wants.

you're gonna laugh, but I think I have to agree with you. he is just the kind of player BP likes and will be a force in the NFL. it will really scare me to leave the first round without the tackle we desperately need, but I would feel much better about the defense with Dorsey.

actaully, the closer we get to the draft, the more I think Jake won't be the pick. negotiating with him first, and now the "slip" by Ireland today. as I have said many times, I like Chris Long, but we don't need another expensive OLB. Dorsey just might be the guy.

dorsey seems like the real deal. why havent there been more rumors of us looking at him? is it b/c of the injuries?

everywhere I read, they say Dorsey is too small for a 3-4 NT. the ideal weight is supposed to be like 325. that is a bunch to gain, even for a big man, but I believe he could get there. also, I read yesterday where someone said he could be a good 3-4 end right now, and if true, he would be a good pick, imo.

dorsey is very dominant, but he cannot play off the line like long and gholston

we already have a large amount of talent and money at OLB, without moving JT I just can't see taking one of those guys. Dorsey has the character, the motor and the talent to upgrade a position of need. also, top D-linemen are worth #1 money.

this thread had so much promise so i give the thread starter credit, but it all went down hill from there

Dorsey measured 6'1 1/2" and 297 pounds. He has very long arms (35 1/4") for a guy of his height. Some say he is not a true nose tackle but he could play either a 4-3 DT or be a strongside DE because of his quickness, intensity and long arms.

I like Dorsey alot but the reason we wont draft him is because we signed Starks and Ferguson in the Free Agency. I dont see the logic of passing on Jake Long, when we need more linemen and picking a DT when we are in goo shape in that position.
