Don't hate...this is simply a hypothetical dream scenario for me.
I wanna know from you guys with a bunch of football knowledge about the potential of drafting Rashad Greene and Phillip Dorsett? Not if you THINK we would do it - because of course we wont - but COULD it work if we did?
Now again...before you go off on me...just hear me out. The reason I think that it could work is when Philbin came in he said "I don't want a #1, #2, #3...I want 3 #2's...or something along those lines. When I think about the combination of the two I get a feeling they would be similar to a Desean Jackson/Jeremy Maclin combo that Philly had for years. So to me...despite their lacking of size...I feel like its been done before and could work in a system like ours that is all about not fighting for the ball...but a system that allows them to exploit the defense and catch the ball in stride and RAC.
I see 2 florida boys - who have been rivals within the state and been competing for years keeping that competitive rivalry going while becoming good friends/teammates and learning all they can from Landry.
I see 3 #2's...perhaps not the biggest guys, but are fast, get YAC, and have some of the most reliable hands/football IQ's/QB friendly players who clearly have a passion for the game.
IF we were to do this we could still use a big boy WR...but we do have Cameron now so we don't necessarily have to go get a stud...just a big body.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
How it could theoretically be done:
Now...if it is PLAUSIBLE that they could work well together. (You tell me?) ...then I think it could be done. We expect both to be 2nd rounders, and I think one of them could be had at our current 2nd round pick. I don't necessarily think we would have to trade down from our 1st. I think we could keep the 1st...take our most glaring need or BPA on defense...and somehow acquire another 2nd round pick via a trade (Jordan possibly?) combined with a later pick.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Again...this is just me dreaming here. I absolutely love both players and can't decide who I want us to draft more. I don't think we take a WR with our 1st round pick anymore...and if we are to take a WR later - I WANT it to be at least one of these boys!
Greene, Dorsett, Stills, Landry, Matthews, Cameron....2 6 ft's and a 6'5'' ...I think there is enough size. We would be the fastest offense in the NFL and youngest.
I can dream....
Just somebody tell me IF from a FOOTBALL SCHEME standpoint (ew...i always think of Wanny no matter when I use that word) ...could it work?
