Dolphins LT Jake Long will square off against John Abraham, Dwight Freeney, and Shawne Merriman in the season's first three weeks.

Long is struggling to block speed rushers through two weeks of preseason, getting beat by Everette Brown on Saturday and Quentin Groves last week. Long already is one of the game's most dominant run-blocking left tackles, but he lacks elite athleticism. It will be put to the test right away.

Seems like they just want to keep questioning Big Jake. I think this crap, its pre-season and this is where it needs to happen. I really hope he proves doubters wrong again and has another PB season.

That site sucks but they are just stating facts here.

But for the most part that site is a football BS heaven.

Rotoworld seems to really be giving the Fins a hard time this past week. Hartline has been inconsistent... The staff isnt high on Turner... Long is struggling with speed... I mean, I realize they are reporting what is in the papers (with the exception of the Hartline story, which they misread and thus reported incorrectly), but I get the impression they are only extracting the negatives.

They put a spin on every story.I started seeing it last year and stopped going there.

I agree rotoworld is usually full of crap. However, in this case they are pointing out something that I am also starting to worry about. On at least 1 play in each of the last two games Jake has gotten his jock strap handed to him. I know it's preseason, but for a guy who seems so serious and who seems to take his job very seriously it's concerning that he is getting beat. We need to withold judgement until the regular season starts, but it's something annoying in the back of my mind.

Long will be just fine..
He is the one on the line I am not worried about..

Everette Brown is a good player. Quentin Groves is a good player. We're talking about two plays during preseason. Worse than overblown.

I'm not really sure the Groves play has anything to do with "speed rushers", which is the basis of the statement. With Groves, it was a case where Long's first move was outside (anticipating...) and the defender went inside. It was mental. Same thing happened to him last year (against the Jags last year too if I remember right...)

Until this starts to be a common occurance, it just looks like preseason to me....

It was Spicer who beat Long to the inside against the Jags last year,

lol now we question Big Jake. . . we must really be improving on this team if people want to start getting on his minor negatives. No LT is perfect, this is preseason and he is far from being a turnstile, he got beat twice in 2 games against quality players. I have seen him make some nice blocks in the run game . . . I mean this really is taking it a bit far no?

Obviously if u to focus on one thing u hope Jake works on its his very slight vulnerability against top speed rushers . . . u want him to hold his own in a positive way . . . and he did that all of last year . . . probably exceeded ALL expectations despite being the #1 overall pick because people said he would have to be a RT in the NFL because he just wont be able to pass protect against speed rushers. Couldn't be further from the truth. Jake is already an elite LT after one season, and he had less than desired interior line play to the right of him for a big portion of it. Jake will be even better this year.

I think E. Brown will be an elite DE within the next 5 years. Q. Groves is a very solid player right now with an upside that only makes you grin from ear to ear. He too could be one of the TOP DE within 5 years.

They both are the young talent that should emerge as the next GEN great DE's in the NFL.

I am not saying they will be #1 & #2 DE's in the league in 5 years. Just that they will be top shelf players and household names. Just like the TOP 15 DE's right now.

The Jason Taylor's had their time as the hottest thing since sliced bread. Now we are seeing the next group of guys coming in the league. So he gave up a few sacks to some really good young talent. He is not going to win every battle, every week. But Jake Long will be one of the LT's that takes us into the next decade.

They definitely have teams that they love to pile it on.

In baseball I've noticed them being overly critical of the Mariners, Twins and Blue Jays. Sure, those teams haven't been particularly successful recently, but it's the small things they print that belittle the players, managers and general managers that aren't necessary.

These past few weeks they've been publishing every negative piece they can find on the Fins, meanwhile other things like the emergence of guys like Sean Smith, Lex Hilliard and Cam Wake mysteriously don't register on their radar.

It's a good site for individual player news, but often times the fantasy sports spin printed below can be taken with a grain of salt. The only use I have for it is for other teams, I get all the Dolphins news I need right here.

not good against speedy rushers only allowed 2.5 sacks, come on
