I report that right now, Zach Thomas is running ahead of all-world Brian Urlacher as my all-pro middle linebacker.

I know Zach caught a lot of crap this year from people here about needing to be cut!

Enough said!

I find it very telling that Zach gets a great quote by a respected writer, and someone gives the tread a 1 star, could it be from one of the fools that said cut him???

Nice to see Zach get some respect that hit on Monday Night must have put him over the top.

When Zach is on is game, he is amongst the best LBs out there no doubt.

I'm one of those that criticised Zach's play at the beginning of the year. To be clear, I was never one of those that suggested he be cut or traded, I just felt that he had lost a step and was on the decline.
Zach has had a fantastic second half, and has certainly proven the naysayers wrong. He, along with Taylor, were the primary reason that we turned a nightmare season into one that had some playoff possibilities, however faint they were.
For the first 7-8 games of the season, the defense was out of sorts. They were getting beaten badly, and often to boot. The secondary, which was the defense's achille heel during this period, looked totally confused. Saban's defense calls for tremendous chemistry among the players- which I realise is such a generalising statement that it may appear as a penetrating glance into the obvious. The coaches were heavily criticised for misusing Zach (i.e blitzing) but I think a lot of those tactics were employed in a desperate attempt to cover up a very weak secondary. Zach was often chasing down someone else's mistake.
The silver lining in the season for me is that the defense looks as if it is capable of carrying this team to some results-based success. JT and ZT are the lynchpins of the unit.

Zach Thomas has been one of the greatest Linebackers in football history. Not many players have played 10+ years and had 100+ tackles in 10 straight seasons.

Zach doesnt get the respect he deserves in the media. You can bet the players around the league give him that respect.
