Dr. Z (no, the other one) eats crow on Ricky

I prefer Peter King, myself. But I've never had a strong opinion against Zimmerman.

Doc, if we were half the football writers Peter is, AJ would have retired off site revenue by now.

(Okay, maybe not, but Peter King still rules.)

do you read many of the posts on this board?

Oh come on now. We don't get paid. And an 8th grade education is not a criteria for this board. :goof: I expect more out of the professionals, though I'm not really sure why.

Peter is pretty damn good, particularly for a national guy. I think the reality is that it's a tough business to break into and these guys have names so they stay around. A different example is a guy like Cris Carter who clearly should not be a professional writer, but someone is paying him since he was a popular player and a popular personality. Starting on the sports beat at a local paper in the hopes of becoming Dr. Z. 20 years down the line probably wouldn't pay the bills for most of us. I think covering high school volleyball would probably get old really fast too. Sites like Finheaven give people a venue as well, but I don't think administrators/ contributors/ posters get the credit they deserve from the more traditional media outlets.

At least he admitted his error. Some of the reporters are sticking by their views through thick and thin. We will prove them wrong by the end of this season.

Yeah, mighty big of him, some respect for that. But I normally ignore him anyway, just because he produces the worst predictions in the industry and has for 20 years. Of all the NFL insider experts, he seems to have the least "insider info" and just sits on his laurels.
