Do the Fins draft the best player available at #9?
And that is easily LB Patrick Willis from Ole Miss.
Spragan is mediocre and Zack is getting old.
Does it make sense.
If Quinn falls they will certainly take him.

There is no such thing as drafting BPA in it's true meaning.

BPA = Best Player Available

Sounds pretty simple and like it could be done....but it isnt. Let's say your the Colts. The best two players on your board are a QB and a WR, now obviously by BPA you would take one of them. By who actually thinks the Colts are looking for a QB or a stud WR?

I like to call it BPABN: Best Player Available By Need

This theory makes a lot more sense. Most people consider not drafting BPA doing this: You really need a LB so you reach and take one before you should. Under my theory of BPABN you make a list of your needs, lets say QB,OLB,CB and take the best player at one of those positions.

The only effective way to draft IMO is BPABN and I hope that is the route we go....I hope that makes sense

How can you say he is the BPA for sure? Everybody has their own opinions on who the best player is.

BPA generally means Best player available on your teams set board....not who is thought of overall as the best.

Example: Miami Draft Board: #1 Calvin Johnson #2 Adrian Peterson #3 Brady Quinn

Houston Draft Board: #1 Adrian Peterson #2 Calvin Johnson #3 Brady Quinn

Miami's BPA would be Calvin Johnson while Houstons would be Adrian Peterson

No! Just BPA refers to 2nd day picks ...

With the 1st day picks...you must pick the BPA as based by need basis.

Especially, your 1st round pick. You definitely do not draft a player you "dont" need...that's dumb.

Everything depends on who we pick up via FA. If we sign Adalius Thomas, it would be stupid to draft Pat Willis. See what I mean?

Show me any two experts that agree on the BPA at any point besides the top 5 maybe. All these mock drafts are purely entretainment. They hold no water, none of these so called experts has guessed (becuase that is what it is) right on any player going to any team beyond the 5th to 8th selection. They have a better chance at predicting the lotto than at guessing who the fins are going to pick. The fins problably dont know who they are going to pick! Wake me up when draft day is here and whomever we pick well than thats the guy I'll be cheering for.

Pretty much what I said, I agree with you on this one

As for everyone saying 'How do you know who the best player is? Its just opinion'

Again BPA generally refers to the best player on a specific teams draft board, for example Drafting Calvin Johnson because he fills a need, when Adrian Peterson is the best player on your board is not drafting BPA. While taking Peterson would be.

Get it?

I would take patrick willis, but imo Leon Hall is better pick, where gunna trade down prolly anyways

I wouldn't mind trading down either. That way if brady quinn is still there at nine we don't end up with him.

Has he ever even won a bowl game. no.
Has he won any games other than the ones he was supposed to win. No.

How is he any better than joey harrington at this point. If we are going to draft a qb we should look for one in later rounds. Drew stanton isn't it either.

Same scenario, just another good quarterback in college.

We have more pressing needs. WE can also address QB in FA.

So now, winning a bowl game is the barometer with which promising QB's are measured.
Gino Torreta, Craig Krenzel should be NFL stars then. What the heck was Denver thinking drafting that guy Cutler last year? He never even sniffed a bowl game.
