DRAFT DADDY 1ST ROUND MOCK DRAFT, NO MEACHEM, NO RICE, AND NO JARRETT IN 1ST ROUND!!!!! THAT WOULD BE GREAT FOR US, WE WOULD BE ABLE TO PICK UP ONE OF THEM WITH OUR #40!!!!

Mock Draft

First Round WITH COMMENTS

last updated: 03/26/07

==
01. Oakland Raiders - WR Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech

Fans want a QB, but Al Davis doesn't. C.J. is, by far, the best player in this draft and Randy Moss is leaving town.
==
02. Detroit Lions - QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame

Quinn likely goes to one of his 'local' teams, as the economics of football come back into play.
==
03.Cleveland Browns - RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma

AD is generating a ton of buzz lately, CLE could trade the pick if they desire.
==
04.Tampa Bay - QB Jamarcus Russell, Louisiana State

"If" the Raiders pick C.J., we see them going for Russell. Bucs exec Doug Williams likes Jamarcus a lot.
==
05. Arizona - OT Joe Thomas, Wisconsin

The Cardinals see Matt Leinart as their franchise and need to protec their investment.
==
06. Washington Redskins - DE Gaines Adams, Clemson

The Redskins cash in on their only first day pick with the elite pass rusher from Clemson.
==
07. Minnesota Vikings - DB Laron Landry, Louisiana State

Trade down for WR perhaps, but if not their safety situation looks bleak.
==
08. Atlanta Falcons - LB Patrick Willis, Mississippi

Willis would make an instant impact on a Falcons defense that needs leadership and accountability.
==
09.
MIAsmall-1.gif
Miami Dolphins - DE Jamaal Anderson, Arkansas

Jason Taylor is not long for this league and the Dolphins need to plan for the future.
==
10. Houston Texans - OT Levi Brown, Penn State

Levi can step in at tackle and add talent to a O-Line that desperately needs a boost.
==
11. Â San Fran 49ers - DL Adam Carriker, Nebraska

Big Adam, who was star at the Senior Bowl and Indy, can play DE in the 49ers new 3-4 defense.
==
12. Buffalo Bills - DT Alan Branch, Michigan

The Bills have a real problem with a lack of defensive line bulk. Branch's slide stops here.
==
13. St. Louis Rams - DT Amobi Okoye, Louisville

The Rams need front line help and Okoye has potential, given time to grow into his frame.
==
14. Carolina Panthers - LB Paul Posluszny, Penn State

The Panthers never really recovered from the loss of Dan Morgan, they need to reload their LB corp.
==
15. Pittsburgh Steelers - DE Anthony Spencer, Purdue

The Steelers consider trading down but stuck with the pick, take a blue collar replacement for Joey Porter.
==
16. Green Bay - RB Marshawn Lynch, California

This is one of the few picks that hasn't changed since our first mock of the season. Can it remain unchanged?
==
17. Jacksonville Jaguars - DB Reggie Nelson, Florida

The Jaguars are seriously targeting safeties with their first pick, Nelson is still elite.
==
18. Cincinnati Bengals - TE Greg Olsen, Miami

The Bengals need tight end help and this speedster from Miami would give Palmer another offensive threat.
==
19. Tennessee Titans - CB Leon Hall, Michigan

Hall's 4.3 time in Indy might have the Titans considering alternatives to Pot Man Jones.
==
20. N.Y. Giants - DB Michael Griffin, Texas

Runs like a corneback; hits like a safety. We think he'd be a major upgrade over the existing talent.
==
21. Denver Broncos - DE Charles Johnson, Georgia

The Broncos pick Johnson and create a young, nasty defensive end duo with Elvis Dumervil.
==
22.
DALsmall-1.gif
Dallas Cowboys - WR Ted Ginn Jr., Ohio State

The Boys are stacked at WR for now but need to plan ahead. Ginn will upgrade return game in the meantime.
==
23. Kansas City Chiefs - WR Dwayne Bowe, Louisiana State

The Chiefs need to spice up the offense, the pick is Bowe, should he fall or next best WR.
==
24. New England Patriots (VIA Sea) - CB Chris Houston, Arkansas

The Patriots have to bolster their defensive secondary, as a long term deal with Samuel seems unlikely.
==
25. N.Y. Jets - OL Justin Blalock, Texas

Intelligent road grader will enhance the Jets running attack and create push at the line of scrimmage.
==
26. Philadelphia Eagles - CB Darrelle Revis, Pittsburgh

The Eagles value CB as a priority position in the draft and need someone to step in at nickel right away.
==
27. New Orleans Saints - CB Aaron Ross, Texas

At some point, N.O. must address their lack of talent in the secondary. Tight end is also a possibility with this pick.
==
28. New England Patriots - DE Jarvis Moss, Florida

The Patriots pass rush needs to get younger and faster, Moss brings new blood to a top defense.
==
29. Baltimore Ravens - OC Ryan Kalil, Southern Cal

Flynn is getting up in age and Ozzie Newsome will see this Combine freak as a future O-Line anchor..
==
30. San Diego Chargers - WR Anthony Gonzalez, Ohio State

The playoffs have left the Chargers seriously considering an upgrade for the WR position & Gonzo had a great Combine.
==
31.
CHIsmall-1.gif
Chicago Bears - OT Joe Staley, Central Michigan

Staley's pro day 40-yard dash was blazing and he has proven he can be a top LT on Sundays.
==
32. Indianapolis Colts - DT Justin Harrell, Tennessee

The Colts could go WR here but Harrell is a tough player who can further improve the defense.

Not a need spot for us but likely BPA if the draft fell this way.

I know that he isnt 21 but this?

Jason Taylor is not long for this league and the Dolphins need to plan for the future.

Cmon, JTs replacement does not have t o be drafted this year

I'm torn on whether Anderson or Carriker is a better fit for us.

I think the Steelers are higher on Jarvin Moss than Anthony Spencer. Spencer has been hovering at the top of the 2nd round for a while now.

The Titans taking Hall is interesting because it would be great value, but I think with the signing of Nick Harper they are hell bent on getting a WR. They really have nothing there now that Drew Bennett is gone. They also have two connections to WRs in 1) Jarrett coming from USC where offensive coordinator Norm Chow was (they are bringing Jarrett in for a meeting soon actually) and 2) Robert Meachem who would represent the hometown pick and make all the UT fans happy.

I also think Revis will be the second corner taken . . . particularly after his pro day.

I think we need to go with Levi Brown at 9.If not, we should trade down for Ted Ginn and get another 1st day pick.I think Jason Taylor is good for at least another 2-3 years. We need playmakers on offense so bad ! Ted Ginn in the middle of the 1st rd. sounds about right.Our o-line needs some major help too though.

There's a good chance Tim Crowder is there at #40. Him or Spencer would be good replacements for JT. I just feel like Anderson is strictly a 4-3 end.

Yeah that is why I tend to lean towards Carriker with that pick.

There really is an abundance of DE/LB tweeners in the first two or three rounds this year. I think Moss is going to be great. I would be very happy with Spencer at 40. Crowder I would rather have at 60 although he probably won't be there. If we wait until 60, we still might have a shot at Lamar Woodley or Quentin Moses.

I've been looking for some good write-ups on these guys and how they might fit a 3-4 but have yet to find anything all that great.

Russell to Tampa.....I stoped reading right there.

Ozzy rules!!

I dont know guys i see 2 of those 3 WR going in the first round. I think we need to take carr through FA, and take Brown if he is available at #9. IF not, take a shut down corner in Leon Hall.

No, i think they will go after Marshawn Lynch if he is there at 12.........they really need a RB.

That is pretty crazy.....Tampa traded for Plummer, signed Garcia to big money, Signed Sims to Big money and also have Gradowski and Mcnown on their roster for QB's. I don't know if they also have Rattay still.

We Need An Impact Player Now At 9 Not A Guy For The Future....give Me Brown Or Ginn
