As a UM alumni, and a Dolfan, there is nothing I hate as much as seeing Canes players going to our division rivals.
I am always thilled to see Canes coming to Miami. I was super hyped about Vernon Carey. Also, seeing Brock Berlin playing in the Dolphins uniform. In the same way, I was truly pi$$d to see Johnathan Vilma going to the dirty Jets.
Checking out the NFLDraftCountdown.com mock draft, they project the Pats to take Brandon Meriweather and the Jets taking Greg Olsen. I know it is only a mock draft, but nothing would make me unhappier than that.
Is there a chance we can land any of Canes. We are picking too early to get Beason, Meriweather or Olsen. Who else can we get in the second round?

i think sadly that its theres a drop off in talent between those three and the rest of the U's class

I agree. Where do you see players like Ryan Moore, Baraka Atkins, Tyrone Moss, Kareem Brown, Anthony Wollschlager or Alex Pou going. I thin that besides Atkins none of them are consider as a possible pick in the first three rounds.

We should want the BPA for the desired positions regardless of what College they went to. If you select a player from U of M and he's not the best - you lose against the better players in live games.

meriwether could possibly fall to us in the 2nd and i would have no reservations about taking him considering he can play ether corner or free satety.

Meriweather and Beason have a slight chance to make it to 2a for us. I'd be pretty hyped if we got Meriweather...he's been one of my favorites.

I like Ryan Moore as a 6th or 7th rounder. The guy was a huge recruit, and had a great freshman year. He got into some trouble last summer, which concerns me, but I would take a 7th on him. He was in my acting class last summer along with Moss, and both are good kids. I'm not so sure I want us drafting Tyrone though.

I've seen Atkins as a 3rd rounder. In some of those future mock drafts of last year, he was a first rounder. I think he's a good value pick in the 4th of he's there.

Meriweather would be very tempting if he fell to us in the 2nd. In fact, depending on who else is available, I would probably be disappointed if we did not draft him considering our situation at safety.

Baraka Atkins is an interesting 3-4 DE prospect, and I think he would be a great pick in the 4th if there.

Im a gator fan, so this cane talk is killing me...

does anyone think that tyrone moss could end up like frank gore???

No. I think he's peaked. He's not fast enough to stretch it to the outside, and he's not going to be big enough to be successful like Bettis. If anything, he's a Natrone Means for a year.

i am not very familiar with the gators who do they have projected high besides nelson?

Reggie Nelson, Jarvis Moss, Ray McDonald, Brandon Siler, and Marcus Thomas could all come off the board in the first three rounds.
