What do the Dolphins do if Peterson is available at #9.
It could happen if Cleveland passes on him.
They are the only team that is in need of a RB. Peterson will be a better back than Ronnie Brown, so do you draft him and trade Brown?
Peterson has much more explosiveness than Brown and is similar to LT in his running styles.
Next to Thomas he is the best player in the draft.
Any thoughts?

They pass him up, and whos to say he will be a better back? he hasnt played a damn down in the league... Ronnie will be a monster this year for us, and with ricky coming back our RB group will be stacked. Btw its not as easy as you might think to trade players, thats why it dosnt happen that often.

Are we picking before or after cleveland? (If before) Maybe Randy can trade them the pick to move down one spot and we can get their first and another 3rd or something...Now that would be sweet

Brown is a solid Running back with multiple skills but he is no Peterson. If he is able to stay healthy Peterson is going to be a top 5 runner in the nfl. Brown is moreso a solid jack of all trades. Peterson is an electrifying runner.

I really hope we don't draft AP. We have talent at RB already, its the o-line that is holding it back. As for Cleveland being the only team ahead of us needing a back, ask the Texans how much they loved using Ron Dayne as their feature back last year (and yes I realize that Domanick "Williams" should be back next year)

I think I would rather have a solid jack of al trades...You never know what he is going to do..(run better or recieve better)

I just read this on another site concerning Mueller and the way he thinks when he drafts a player.

---Drafting McAllister was Mueller’s boldest move as an NFL executive. Ricky Williams was still on the roster, but Mueller felt that McAllister was the best player available when it was the Saints’ turn to pick in the 2001 1st round.

If Peterson slides, it's because he has very serious injury concerns.

I believe that you draft the best player available, you never know what the future brings. (injuries' suspensions, trade offers etc.)

Exactly. Anyone who has watched Peterson play can tell you he is special. He has that "it" that very few backs have. He is a better pure running back than Reggie Bush.
If Peterson is there, just as with Quinn or Johnson, you would have to take him.
Ronnie Brown would be a great fit for a team like the Broncos or Redskins. I hear Portis is on the trade block. Joe Gibbs has always liked the bigger, more physical backs like Brown.
What if the top of the draft was heavily slanted towards defense and the Phins had to choose between Peterson and Quinn? That would be a tough choice.

The greatest value at the number nine spot and what kind of dynamic that player would bring to our team is TED GINN JR.

Peterson is fragile. I stay away from him at no. 9.

That's why Thurman Thomas lasted until the 2nd round. This alleged issue of injuries. Peterson gets nicked a lot because he runs with reckless abandon and he gets a lot of carries.
He won't be pounded like that in the NFL because offenses are more balanced.
